He is not getting many reps in practice because he is currently buried on the depth chart. The Bucs may try and squeeze him through on the PS, although I would advise them not to.
Jon Gruden saw what forcing Gradkowski into playing time as a rookie did, and I think he'll bring Josh along slowly.
That being said, Josh Johnson is a fierce competitor and a damn fine QB. He's able to read defenses, and will go through his progressions before running the football.

I would be very surprised if he made it through waivers and on to the practice squad. I definitely see another team picking him up before he would be able to be placed on the practice squad.
There has already been some discussion in the press about Tampa keeping 4 QB's because of the practice squad concerns already mentioned. Wouldn't surprise me at all.
Depending on JJ's progress it also wouldn't suprise me to see McCown get moved before the trade deadline or become the odd man out next year.
