Julius Jones to the Packers? (1 Viewer)

this is complete speculation, but i think the packers will sign julius jones. brandon jackson is awful, and john kuhn is a slow FB. jones is nothing special, but he is tough veteran rb. he will also come very cheap, and no draft pick compensation, which seems like a ted thompson move.

maybe pick up jones now, in case they sign him.

what do you think?

I think it is far more likely that my 16 year old son looking for part-time after school work and Julius Jones will be competing for the same fast food jobs.

The Jones release is a down grade for my kid.

 Maybe Barry Sanders can come out of retirement and play RB for GB. Just about everyone under the sun that plays RB is rumored to be going to GB.

Lot of snark in the thread, but would it be that surprising for the Pack to bring him in for a tryout and see for themselves where he's at? It wouldn't cost 'em anything and maybe they'll find him as a cheap fit.

Julius Jones is slow and awful - it seems GB already has that covered.

no and please change your title to include something like "Speculation" or "Warning, I smoke rock"

I actually think this may be likely. Not through a trade, but through Jones' release. No way the Seahawks keep him around when they have Lynch, Forsett, and Washington. Once Jones gets cut, RB needy teams will give his agent a call. One of those teams may be the Packers. (Another may be the Eagles.)

He's already been cut.

He got to play in the NFL for many years, played for 2 good organizations, piled up 5,500+ yds from scrimmage and 24 TDs. Not many of us can say this.

If I was a Pack Fan I would want his Son. WOW

Still peeved at Parcells for trading down from an opportunity to draft Stephen Jackson, in order to draft Julius Jones (and nab Marcus Spears the following year, with the pick gained in the trade), because all the RBs were the same. I remember Jackson sliding right down to the pick, and then swearing loud and long when they traded the pick. (My wife remembers this, as well.) Still think the Cowboys would have been a lot better over the last half decade with Stephen Jackson instead of dealing with Jones/Barber/Jones/Choice over that span.

Enough with jokes...lol

I was hoping Lynch would go to the packers.

Do we have any reliable source telling us this is happening?
