July 4th on a Tuesday... What is your plan of action? (1 Viewer)

A Tuesday is a pretty strange day, I want to get tanked on the 4th and prob take the 5th off, but going in on the 3rd seems kinda pointless too. I've already put a #### ton of time off in the calendar for the summer... Bush league just taking the 3rd & 5th too? 

Anyone else think this one through yet?

Driving the kids to Holiday World on the 2nd. Coming home on the 5th.

Go to work on the 3rd, shoot off fireworks/party/drink that night.  Sleep in on the 4th and eat/drink/shoot off more fireworks, but not as late.

Go to work on the 5th.

I was thinking about doing the opposite. Feel like everyone in the world will take the 3rd and half ### the 5th. Instead, maybe go in to a fairly empty office and work a 10-3 day on the 3rd and take the 5th.

Working in finance we have our month/quarter end close that week, work half day on the 2nd, work into the night on the 3rd, off the 4th to watch parade and fireworks, then back to work first thing on the 5th.

being self-employed dictates my holiday planning fall around that of my steadiest/most lucrative clients - all will be open on Monday ??, and a few will require my unique services.

Yep me too. We report sales on the 3rd, which had initially been pushed back to the 5th, and received the most soul-less email I've ever seen in my working life to say nope we changed our minds all systems go on the 3rd, and all close deliverables as expected end of week. We were told we could take two extra vacation days to make up for this, but nothing can make up for the realization that the Corporate office apparently hates acknowledging freedom.

Office is closed on the 3rd as well. Will start my new job on the 5th after being off laid off the last few weeks. Wife and kids also out of town first week of July. I'm sure I'll be a raging party animal and watch lots of TV or something.

The best we'll do is to close early on Monday.  Part of the reason is that we close the office entirely on Fridays during July and August, so that week is getting stepped on with Friday already.

Probably just me, but I don't have any interest in getting bombed on the fourth. Do that on the third. Sleep in, jog off some toxins, watch some dudes inhale a disgusting amount of hot dogs, swim, grill/day drink, threaten the kids with no fireworks unless the house is clean, fireworks, laugh at people that drove to fireworks, short nap, horribly unproductive day at work. Merica.

We get a half day on Monday and then Tuesday off.  I'll most likely "work from home" on Monday and go in on the 5th.
