Nice draft. You could use some SBs, but I am sure you can find a sleeper or 2 on the waiver wire.

Modified keeper league.I kept hitters, and when pitching heavy early.

I'm going to ride in on Wrigley's coat-tails here:

8th out of 14 team draft, OBP and QS instead of Avg. and Wins:

C: Doumit (8)

1B: Konerko (10)

2B: Kinsler (1)

3B: A. Ramirez (3)

SS: Tulowitzki (5)

OF: Upton (2)

OF: Granderson (4)

OF: Cruz (11)

DH: Nady (14)

Bench: Cust (17)

Bench: Cameron (20)

SP: Nolasco (6)

SP: Vazquez (7)

SP: Slowey (9)

SP: Kershaw (14)

SP: Sanchez (16)

RP: Capps (12)

RP: Motte (15)

Bench: Buchholz (18)

Bench: Jordan Zimmerman (19)

Bench: Marshall (21)

DL: Tim Hudson (22)

-I went Kinsler over Howard because I saw a lot of value at 1B, including Fielder possibly in the 2nd, Votto in the middle, and then an underrated Konerko as a safety-valve. Not so much at 2B, IMO.

-Got snipered on Iannetta and Dukes.

Overall, very good:Closer could be shored up a little, I'd snag Downs over Howell in anticipation of BJ Ryan losing his job.I'd play Alex Gordon against all righty pitchers, and Guillen whenever Gordon's facing a lefty.

I like that offense. Some of your SP are risky......
I'll assume you are talking to me, and not Shanny.Yeah, I guess my pitchers are a little bit on the "risky" injury side....but they all have HUGE upside. All will give me close to 200K's with large win totals.....sans Peavy(unless he get traded)

I don't see a whole lot of holes in this team. Very good job in a 14 team league.

Not to rain on your parade but I'm not sure I like this team much... You have basically only one guy who is a lock for 100 RBI (Manny) and only one starter who can steal 20 plus bags (Victorino). The rest of your team is filled with "nice players" but no real superstars and no guys with a really high upside (except for maybe Pedroia). Your pitching staff should net you lots of K's and a fair share of wins but you could be in the bottom half in ERA and WHIP. I guess I'm just not sold on C. Lee just yet. Even if your pitching breaks right for you (which it can), I'm not sure you have enough offensively to keep up. Hope I am wrong and best of luck!

So basically....what I said. :goodposting:

Looking at mixed draft results always reminds me how incredibly shallow these leagues are. There will be plenty of talent on the WW to make up for any holes if you're active.

i guess a man with 7 straight 99+ RBI seasons, is about 5 years younger than manny, and about 100X less crazy than manny just doesn't count. (not making this manny vs. lee, i love both)as always, it depends on how the players perform, but i think it's a nice squad. the OF has as steady a power production at the top with lee and manny, with some great speed balancing it out.

1B isn't as weak as it looks. pena can hit some bombs and if he goes into a bad slump, conor jackson won't hurt you. heck, co-jack isn't that different than derrek lee, imo.

pedroia's got a shot to be as valuable as any 2B. he's basically ian kinsler with a little bit less SB potential.

obviously, for the lineup to work, v-mart and gordon really need to come through. if nothing else, guillen and gordon will provide speed at a speed starved position, which always comes in handy.

i think the rotation is anchored just fine with peavy and beckett. i think beckett was better than his numbers looked last year. while there are concerns about peavy, he still has a very real chance of being a top 5 SP. i don't trust burnett and lee, but as mentioned, solid backend guys can be found on the wire.

the RP situaiton is okay. in a 12 team league, you can survive with 2 solid closers to start and just find another save source on the wire.

this team can compete if it's managed well and the players do what they are capable of, which is about as much as you can ask of any team in a competitive league.

2 months left, and this is what this team now looks like(huge changes)

How can I make this roto team better for the stretch run?

Play 4 OF+1 UTL

C: V Mart

1B: C Pena

2B: J Lopez

SS: J Peralta

3B: D Wright

OF: M Ramirez, C Lee, M Holliday, J Werth

UTL: S Victorino, A Dunn

B: J Posada, B Inge, J Pierre

SP: J Becett, C Billingsly, C Lee, M Garza, R Harden, W Rodriguez, J Blanton

RP: H Bell, R Soriano, B Jenks, L Nunez

I'm lacking speed(again)

I've been offered Pedrioa for Cliff Lee.............thoughts?

I wouldn't do that trade. Cliff Lee might not lose another game this year with that lineup behind him. And the Phillies schedule down the stretch is pretty easy to boot.Any SB options on the WW? Willie Bloomquist, Chris Getz? Leo Nunez will probably be dropable in a week or so.

Bloomquist is on the wire, but with only 2SB's the past month, he isn't really much of an option.Gets is gone(Chi town homer league)Nunez and J Pierre will both be droppable soon.........I was really hoping LA would either make room for Juan or trade him somewhere he would get playing time.
