Just finished drafting in a guppy league (1 Viewer)

So, my brother in law knows nothing about FOOTBALL, let alone fantasy football, and he was coaxed into joining a fantasy league by his friends and co-workers, who were obviously thinking they were going to just take his money and get one over on him. He asked me to be a co-owner of his team and draft for him. This isnt a rate my team draft. I know this team is insane. I only WISHED I had a team like this one in ALL my leagues. Im posting the draft results so you guys can get as good a laugh as I did at some of these picks.

Here are the rosters/scoring:

10 teams, 14 rounds

Start: 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1WR/TE, 1FLEX (RB/WR/TE), 1K, 1DST (as you can see you can choose to start 2 or NO TE's in this league! You could opt to use both flex spots on WR and/or RB and not even draft a TE).

Scoring: 1pt per 25 yds passing, 1pt per 10 yds rush/rec., 4pts per passing td, all other tds 6pts. bonus pts for 100 and 200 yard rush/rec games, 300 and 400 yard passing games, and for long passing/rushing/rec. td's over 50 yds.

Here is my team and then under that the full draft (I was Team Llanera):

QB: Vick, RGIII

RB: Darren McFadden, FJax, Hillis, Ryan Williams, David Wilson

WR: Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, Brandon Lloyd, Torry Smith, Antonio Brown

TE: None...after graham and gronk why the F would you ever draft a TE when instead you can draft a torrey smith or antonio brown and start them in the flex instead?!?!

GD I love drafting with guppies!! Look at some of the picks below. The draft starts out normal enough with the first 8 picks...and then you get your first clue about your competition LOL ENJOY

So, my brother in law knows nothing about FOOTBALL, let alone fantasy football, and he was coaxed into joining a fantasy league by his friends and co-workers, who were obviously thinking they were going to just take his money and rape him.

Also, I see this in threads from time to time. Is it REALLY necessary?

You say you're drafting with guppies....well I think your team oughta be a little better then.

I drafted last night in my first ever guppy league. It was bad. QBs flew off the board ASAP. They had roster limits so my team was hampered from being better. Only weak point is at QB because BACKUP QBs were starting to be taken in the 6th round

QB- Romo, Palmer, Locker

RB- MCCoy, MJD, D Martin, R Mathews, Ridley, K Hunter

WR- Julio, Nicks, V Jax, Wayne, Amendola, Sanu

TE- Hernandez, Fleener, Cook

PK- Tynes

DEF- Seahawks.

Got the this team is a lock for the playoffs from everyone except Wood.

It was the strangest draft I have ever been in.

:hifive: to me

You say you're drafting with guppies....well I think your team oughta be a little better then.
Well there were a FEW teams that clearly knew what they were doing so not all guppies. You can tell who the guppies are when you look at the picks.

Drafted Vick and Lloyd in front of others that should have been drafted first. Should have drafted Graham and Gronk if possible.

If you have to ask who the guppy is... the guppy tends to be the one drafting... i.e. you.

Our league invited 3 new people to be in it. Two were really bad at drafting. One picked the SF defense in the first round. I actually asked if it was a joke and they said it wasn't.

It looks like there are 3 really good teams, 3 mediocre teams, and 2 really bad ones. It's an 8 team league.

[ ] interesting thread[ ] funny thread[ ] keep us posted[x] cool story, bro
Thanks man! I thought it was a cool story too...Bo!
Your fighting a losing battle. Crappy thread, no one cares, and you should of known better.
Actually I'm not fighting any battle. I couldn't care less I'm just having fun with these people that are clearly getting irritated by my post (which says something about them..if you get annoyed at a post in a fantasy football forum, you need to take immediate step to improve your quality of life IMO). The REAL issue here is that they saw the title of the thread, KNEW they would not be interested in its contents, yet still opened the thread to berate the OP. If there is any battle, It is these people who lost it at that point. Take care, comb your hair lol

WOW

I would have done things differently

for instance, if I knew they were all guppies, it would have been Gronk or Graham in round 2

8 team no -PPR 6 pts for passing TDs

QB: Brady, Rivers

RB: benson, brown, r. Jennings, Rodgers, M. Bush, Tate

WR: G. Jennings, Julio. B. Lloyd, Colston, V-Jax

TE: Gronk

DEF: Packers

Can I get a who cares!?!?!?

I thought about that but I'm do high on McFadden this season and I couldn't pass him up with the 16th pick. If graham would have lasted into my 3rd pick he was my pick but he didn't. Gronk...I think he will still be study but I see a regression from last year and don't thin his year end numbers will warrant his draft status. I could be wrong jmo. Once gronk and graham were gone there was absolutely no reason to take ANY TE at all.

I knew my 10 team league posted above was bad (everyone should have a fairly good team), but 8 team league? Do they really exist? Are there Pro Bowlers on waivers?

Just helped my wife draft a team in her Guppy League. 10 team, PPR, flex.

Great value picks at RB, obviously, but SEVEN RB's before filling out your starting WRs? Dem Thomas is a good WR2 anyway I suppose.

Why would you love drafting with guppies...seems kinda weak to me. Like being in college and playing basketball against a bunch of 12 year old kids...cool bro.

I want a link so I can reopen this thread in 4 months and see if OP wins this league. This should be a mandatory "drafting with guppies" thread inclusion.

I just drafted with guppies too. Here's my team

QB: Rodgers, Brees, Brady

RB: Foster, Rice, McCoy, McFadden

WR: Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, Roddy White,

TE: Graham, Gronk

PK: Gostkowski

TD: Niners

It's funny how I'm so much better at fantasy football than these other guys who have friends, and responsibilities, and fulfilling social lives. Couldn't have done this without FBG.

Attention! Attention! Attention all drafters! If you play in a ten team league your team should rock! At least one or two guppies will have as gooda team as you! Return to normal posting. Over.

For a bunch of people who seem so annoyed by this thread y'all sure are doing a terrific job of keeping it at the top of the shark pool by replying to it! Too funny.

Here's my starting lineup for my work league (no joke)

QB:Ryan

RB1:McCoy

RB2:Murray

WR!:Marshall

WR2:Nelson

Flex:McFadden

TE:Hernandez

Eagles

This one time, I had a draft, and everyone else at the draft wasn't so god. So, yeah.
Guess some didn't read the bottom of my original post...

Yeah. After Ryan, he should have gone mining at WR. He might need to trade a RB for WR help now. DT should have been his 3rd or 4th WR. His 3rd WR is the 2/3 on his NFL team!

POTY!!!

Anyway. The team is decent....but most certainly not "insane". If you are going to start a thread like this, at least be able to back it up.

ETA: And, yes, this IS a Rate my Team thread.

What are we up to like 45 posts? Let's see if we can get to 500...come on guys keep going. I don't think that enough of you have expressed your annoyance yet. Lol

Actually didn't read any of your post. Read the OP and lashed out. The point is no one wants to watch you rostergasm in public. If the point is how stupid and funny your league mates are there is a way to tell the story without posting your roster with the disclaimer, not a rate my team thread but ain't it great.
