Just give the ring to Peyton already. (1 Viewer)

It's easy to pile on Peyton in this time where his teams defense didn't play great and he made some critical errors that led to another playoff loss. And that's what I like about it. Just sitting back...making fun of the uber-dork's consistent poor play in the playoffs, counting that Raven ML money

@AnthonyMunozHOF: Its funny how you give your d a 7 pt lead, With little time left and the loss is Manning's fault.
:goodposting:
Yeah, Peyton's worst play was on that long TD by Flacco to Jacoby Jones. He got really fooled there.
I thought thats why Broncos got rid of tebow he didnt have the range to cover the deep ball.
Ya I guess those 3 Manning turnovers didn't help the Ravens at all, or those 2 special team touchdowns ?

This defense is great, Peyton is still Peyton. When I saw them dismantle the Saints offense earlier this season I knew they were a quality team. This defense brought Tebow to the playoffs last year. Add a future Hall of Famer.Adios, Belichek. You'll get another ring just not this year.
Taking bets on when Eminence will pop back up in the thread? Actually you can bet on which of his Broncos are the best threads he pops up into first

I think they should have to play football to see who gets the ring -- winner takes ityou could maybe send peyton a card, or something, though.

You quit your day job yet?

Almost as funny as last year:

Well, that was my prediction. Since you guys are SO SMART, tell me, who is going to win the Super Bowl then? If you can pick at me and my prediction (and I still think it was a fine prediction), tell me who wins this thing so I can make fun of you when you're wrong.
No one would have blasted you if you said that the Broncos would win the super bowl. I don't think anyone would have said anything if you said that Peyton Manning would lead the way and be the MVP. It is the way you said it, with you numerous Broncos are the greatest threads that you started, and the arrogance that was perceived because you just assumed that Denver had already won, and everyone else was playing for 2nd place. This is why we can and will make fun of you, go look at the other predictions in the threads asking for predictions, no one is blasting those people for being wrong.

Settle down. None of us forced you to shout it from the rooftops.

Touche. I probably worded that last reply poorly. With that said, I am interested in the opinions of the people who posted in this thread about the Super Bowl. More importantly, in a matchup like this where the game goes to overtime. Is it even POSSIBLE to predict who wins? It seems like if ran through a simulator 100 times, the Broncos would have won 50% of the time and the Ravens would have won 50% of the time.Know what I mean? Is there actually a talent to predicting these things or is it dumb luck?

but you did say just give the ring to peyton already. so apparently there was no question who was winning. As great as Peyton is, i think you were underestimating the remaining teams, especially the task at hand with the ravens.

Probably the kind of questions you should consider before blowharding your personal predictions all over the internet.

I realize a lot of people like to debate Peyton vs. Brady but their playoff records have long put that one to bed except for the biggest of Peyton homers and the Brady haters. The real question in my mind is would you rather have Peyton or Eli as your QB? To me, the answer is Eli and it really isn't that close. Eli has proven twice to be very clutch in the playoffs and I would rather have that clutch playoff play and live with inconsistent regular season play. While Peyton has proven to be a great regular season QB he has never in his career proven to be clutch in the playoffs. Even the year they won he only really had one good half.

Is Ben Roethlisberger better than Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers because he has won two rings to their one?

What do those three have to do with whether you would rather have Peyton or Eli has your team's QB?

It demonstrates that saying, "QB A is better than QB B because he has won more rings," doesn't usually work, unless it is a situation where two quarterbacks are neck and neck and postseason success can be used as sort of a tiebreaker (like many would argue in the case of Peyton vs. Brady). I am well aware that Peyton has only been a good postseason QB (vs. being probably the best regular season QB ever), but to say he isn't as good as Eli, especially after a season where Eli struggled mightily for much of it, is just crazy talk. Despite yesterday, Peyton is still a lock to be a first ballot HOFer and will go down as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game, while Eli is still a borderline HOFer at best (two great postseason runs mask the face that he has only been a good, not great, QB most of the time).

Brush up on your reading skills because I I never said Eli was better than Peyton. I asked which QB would you rather have on your team and it is a legitimate argument giving the dramatic differences in their respective regular season and playoff performances.

That's fine, but if you are implying that you'd rather have one player over another, it usually goes without saying that you think the player you'd take is better. I mean, who would take the lesser player??

Define better than because there are tons of examples where less talented athletes prove to be superior clutch performers while very talented athletes seem to consistently come up short when the lights shine the brightest. Eli and Peyton is just one example and as a fan don't you want to ask yourself who you would rather have? During their peak performance years I doubt anyone could argue that Jeter was better than ARod yet I can't think of one person who would rather have had ARod come playoff time.
