Just got back from 8 days in Maui - AMA (2 Viewers)

I would actually love some more Kihei recommendations, especially on food. We usually stay near Lahaina and hang out there a lot, but obviously need to pivot. Also, if anything in or near Lahaina IS open, would like to know as well to support them.

still high on my list:

merriman's in kapalua
Sansei in kapalua
Sea house in Napili- great for happy hour/sunset
hula grill
Leilani's
star noodle
aloha mixed plate
duke's

rarely go to kehei

there are many newer restaurants i am not familiar with

If you like sushi, I strongly recommend Koiso Sushi in Kihei. BUT you have to call way in advance to make reservations as they only have 12 or so seats.

Mama's Fishhouse yesterday. Ruth Chris today. No alcohol. 2 people. Spent over 550 bucks for two dinners. Luv u Maui. Ha ha

Was at Star Noodle on Saturday. It seems like it's gone downhill. Food was bland and noodles were borderline cold. Some old chick was vomiting on the front deck by the entrance and the staff did nothing about it.

Mala Ocean Tavern, on the other hand, was excellent.

Miso Phat for sushi in Lahina

if there with kids, Slappy Cakes is a solid choice for breakfast (though it can be a bit loud). we were on Easter and they had an Eggs Benedict special with carnitas instead of ham. absolute game-changer.

Back on mainland. Smh. It was a super nice trip returning to where I raised my children. We left due to the Maui grind and this trip really emphasized how the grind is even harder now. Loved visiting, but glad we moved on. We looked at condos to invest in with a another couple while we were there. A very realistic thing for us and if I were to bet, I'd bet we move forward with one.

Bleh. Anniversary trip to Hawaii or Mexico is deferred… our 15 year old dog isn’t doing well and we do not feel good about leaving her at a kennel or having a friend watch her.

Decided to take a week in Lake Tahoe and bring her.

Reeaallly need some beach and rum drinks

Thanks bud. We will.

Lol getting her one of those carrier/backpack devises for when she gets tired on the hikes.

Where are you these days? Let try to connect
