took Turner 8.8 in a new 12 team dynasty league yesterday. I don't mind waiting on him. :)
8.04 in a new 12 team dynasty league last week. Didn't pick again 'til 9.09 and decided I couldn't wait any longer. (Don't have Tomlinson in that league.)

9th round in initial dynasty league. I handcuffed him to Tomlinson, but I think he will be a beast wherever he goes next year as a FA.

He likely wont be going anywhere next year. You're going to have to wait 1 more year. The Chargers will likely tender him the highest possible tender for a restricted free agent. I doubt anyone would match it.

I could even afford to wait one more year. I do have R Brown and L Maroney. Nevertheless, he is fun to watch :banned:

Just to talk this through. I thought the way restricted free agency worked was that Turner got to field offers from other clubs, and then San Diego got to choose whether they wanted to match it or not? Not the other way around. It might not make a difference, but I can see teams throwing Turner starter money. Would San Diego be able to match that for their backup to LT?

You are correct in that Turner would be allowed to negotiate with other clubs, perhaps even get starter money offered to him. The Chargers would have the rights to match that deal. However, the Chargers are also able to tender the max offer available to Turner at something close to 2 Mill for 1 season. If another team elects to sign him anyway, they will have to give up a First and third rd pick.

You can read a similar situation with Rudi Johnson a couple years ago here --> http://bengals.enquirer.com/2004/03/02/ben1b.html

Ahhh, I see. Thanks for the explanation. I think you're correct then because $2 million for one season would seem worth it. And another team likely would be hesitant to part with a first and third round pick. So as you said, it would seem we have to wait at least one year. Good thing I'm patient.

He went in the 11th round of my keeper league (not to me and I own LT :( )

One of my best friends took him 2-3 rounds earlier than I considered taking him. Yesterday I get the Turner for Gates straight up trade offer. Like I want a handcuff that bad

I think it's just a 1st round pick, not a 1st and a 3rd.... I think it's just over 2 million

Why not pay a 1st for Turner? Certainly better than drafting a softie like Mike Bush there.
If it's only a first, then I think a team might bite on that. If it's a first and a third then that's probably unlikely. So it probably depends on what the rule actually is.
