Just traded away my 1st round pick (1 Viewer)

I'm in this crazy big IDP league with 53 man rosters and a very tweaked scoring system, that evens out all positions to roughly the same value. example: to a DL a tackle is worth 3 pts, to a DB its worth 2 and for an LB 1.5 and there are lots of other little twists. We also operate with a 200 year salary cap..

I packaged my 1st rounder (pick 12 since I'm the champ) with Leon Washington, Brett Keisel and Lawyer Milloy. In return I received Chris Hope and picks #23 and #26, giving me 4 picks in a row bottom 2nd/top 3rd (draft doesn't snake untill round 3).

I really like this trade, what do you think ?

my first question is "are there any spots available.....lolseriously, not that bad of a trade, in IDP leagues, if your offense is set, having 2nd rounders is always good.I'm not a big Leon Washingtan fan, Milloy is old, and Keisel, meh too much going on there to know what his role is in the next few years.

To be fair I must tell you that Chris Hopes contract was expiring, he would have been an FA march 2. His owner had to trade him, tagging him for an extra season would have cost him a 1st rounder. I do like Washington to get more touches next year, and return yards being scored in this league helps too. But his contract would expire after next season, might as well get something for him when I had the chance. Milloy was a throw-in as a one or two year fix to soften the blow of losing Hope. Keisel finished the season as #27 DL overall, making him a top #3 DL (for this season )

My offense is stellar, it includes Carson Palmer, Larry Johnson, Housh, Walker, Ward, Coles, Winslow (2 pts per reception for TEs, 1 pt WR, 0 pt RB) among others. But my D really needed help, getting Hope fixed some issues in my secondary now I can focus on other areas.

I'd love to remain anonymous, LH, but I have to out myself as the other owner involved. As you said, it basically came down to the fact I messed up when assigning contract years last year and only put 1 year for Hope. Who woulda thunk he'd end up the #1 DB in the league.

I thought about trying to get some other interest, but I like having the multiple picks in the first, even if they are at the end (I ended up 2nd in the league last year, to LH). It gives me ammo to move up if I want or just two decent guys in a row.

I am intrigued with Washington, and just hope the Jets don't grab Turner from the Chargers and he could be a #2 back for me. Probably a bye week/injury filler at the moment. I also needed a back to replace Tiki if he retires (I think he probably will).

Anyways, LH - now you'll have to be careful what you post - j/k it's a pretty competitive league, and I feel fortunate to have made it to the championship game the first season (although that was my initial draft strategy going in.)
