Just Wondering (1 Viewer)

Off the top of my head I'd say it's because whatever your sex, everyone starts off as a woman in the womb.

For the first several weeks a developing embryo follows a "female blueprint," from reproductive organs to nipples. Only after about 60 days does the hormone testosterone kick in (for those of us with a Y chromosome), changing the genetic activity of cells in the genitals and brain. But by then those mammary papillae aren't going anywhere.

That's just a guess on my part

I'm going to assume there will be many better (more entertaining) answers to follow, though.

Ya think?

Dogs have like 6 nipples, which is pretty badass.
Actually, seeing as my dog had a litter of 14 puppies last summer, I can tell you they have more like 12 nipples, though they are of varying effectiveness in the milking department.
