i've read the jags plan for him to start at the WLB when peterson moves on with daryl smith moving over to MLB.

i know he has excellent athleticism(by all reports anyways), how has he looked with the big jump in competiion and speed from tiny Hampton? i've seen his box score stats but haven't seen him in live actions thus far. i've never really been overly impressed with daryl smith- is there any chance durant moves ahead of schedule and takes smith's job ealier(like sometime this year)? i like his dynasty potential but don't really want to have to hold onto him for 2years, i'm hoping he gets onto the field much sooner

I don't think there is any chance of Durant starting this year unless there is a major injury to Peterson or Smith.

I think Durant (...or Daryl Smith, for that matter) owners will be disappointed if they're waiting for Peterson to leave. If the Jags did not cut Peterson after his pec injury, they'll probably never cut him. Peterson's contract is extremely cap friendly this year and next ($3.8mm in '07 and $3mm in '08).

I would keep him in a dynasty league. He played well in preseason, but has to bide his time until there is a spot for him to play.

i guess we'll get a good look at how versatile durant can be this week. clint ingram is expected to miss the game so durant is suppose to see alot of snaps at SLB(if not starting). durant may not know his assignments but my lord durant-peterson-smith should be fun to watch absolutely flying around on the football field. many teams starting safeties can't run as fast as those 3can as LB'ers.
