Kansas City Defense (1 Viewer)

I like the way the next few weeks look for the KC defense. They are ranked 4th in PPG allowed so far this season - including a nice defensive game against Indy. In addition, McCluster is a special teams threat, if your league includes returns in team D points.

There may be some opportunity here:

vs. Jacksonville

vs. Buffalo

@ Oakland

@ Denver

vs. Arizona

I'm with you. I'm starting them over Tenn this week & do like there schedule coming up.

For this week, Bouman is 38 and not attempted a pass in a season game since his 2005 campaign with the New Orleans Saints.

:goodposting:

Yeah I went pretty heavy on them in any league where they were available.....this week looks especially attractive and the upcoming schedule as mentioned is against some bad teams.

That said there is a big difference between a good NFL defense and an NFL defense that scores well for fantasy football - here's hoping the Chiefs are both for several weeks

I would think the Sacks and INT's should pick up in the coming weeks, especially at home.

I would add that they're a nice DST to pair as follows:

Chiefs DST and Falcons DST (Most INTs in NFL)

07: ATL vs CIN (14) OR KC vs JAC (17) - OK

08: ATL on BYE OR KC vs BUF (31) - GREAT

09: ATL vs TB (22) OR KC@OAK (13) - GOOD

10: KC@DEN (10) OR ATL vs BAL (20) - OK

11: KC vs ARI (30) OR ATL@STL (24) - GREAT

12: ATL vs GB (11) OR KC@SEA (26) - GOOD

13: ATL @ TB (22) OR KC vs DEN (10) - GOOD

14: ATL@CAR (32) OR KC @ SD (1) - GREAT

15: KC@STL (24) OR ATL@SEA (26) - GREAT

16: ATL vs NO (15) OR KC vs TEN (16) - NOT GREAT

This combo has pretty strong matchups except in weeks 10 and 16. You could do a spot pickup for week 16 if it looks like you'll be there.

They also pair well with SD as suggested by FBG in preseason

Week 1 - San Diego at Kansas City (190)

Week 2 - Kansas City at Cleveland (171)

Week 3 - Kansas City vs. San Francisco (196)

Week 4 - San Diego vs. Arizona (196)

Week 5 - San Diego at Oakland (172)

Week 6 - San Diego at St. Louis (158)

Week 7 - Kansas City vs. Jacksonville (219)

Week 8 - Kansas City vs. Buffalo (177)

Week 9 - Kansas City at Oakland (172)

Week 10 - Kansas City at Denver (217)

Week 11 - Kansas City vs. Arizona (196)

Week 12 - Kansas City at Seattle (202)

Week 13 - San Diego vs. Oakland (167)

Week 14 - San Diego vs. Kansas City (185)

Week 15 - Kansas City at St. Louis (158)

Week 16 - San Diego at Cincinnati (214)

i couldnt believe how many leagues they were available in for the minimum bid. its almost like a barstool pundit, too good to be true, play.

I like them in leagues which reward points allowed and special teams, but I'm not huge on their sacks/turnovers. The pass rush is only average, and they play a style of defense which doesn't really cater to forcing lots of INTs.

I picked them in one league... in my other league, I have the TEN and SEA def... would u drop either one for the KC DEF?

who has better fantasy match up?

Sea vs Ari

KC vs Jac

hmm - I wanted desperately to pick up the Seattle D to pair with the Chiefs the rest of the way, but couldn't pull the trigger because half my team is on a bye this week. Of course, the guy I'm playing picked up the Seahawks. Pretty much one of them as a sweet home matchup the rest of the way. Now I'll look at these other options. Love them at home - on the road not so much.. Would be shocked if they don't light it up the next two weeks.

Needing to get in as soon as possible on a Indy WR and RB on the WW, I just dropped GB's DEF and I'm rolling with only KC's DEF for a few weeks.

Yup, I am that confidant that their low points against and upcoming schedule will translate to sacks and turnovers soon (a ST TD would be icing on the cake).

They've been good if you're in a league that heavily weights points against. I don't see much out of the defense that suggests a good pass rush; they just play generally good defense without a ton of big plays. As good as their returners are, I don't put a ton of stock in return TDs since they're nigh-impossible to predict. That said, I do like LC a lot the rest of the year, because against poor teams with mistake-prone quarterbacks, a few sacks and turnovers will start to come by default. Bottom line: this is a team that is likely to get you 6-8 points a week the next several games in standard DST scoring, with upside for a good bit more.

Can't decide between KC vs JAX or BALT vs BUF..
+1Think I'm going with KC. I was actually surprised just how few ff points the Baltimore defense has scored so far this year. I am unable to watch any of the games (out of the country), but *thought* Balt was still ferocious on defense. Is that no longer true or is there another explanation?

If that matchup was any other previous week, it's KC no problem. However, something just tells me the return of Ed Reed will result in a defensive TD for Baltimore.

Is Ed Reed back for week 7? Last I heard it wasn't looking good. I think he'll be back week 8 or later.

Source Roto:Ravens activated FS Ed Reed (hip surgery) from the physically unable to perform list.

Reed is good to go for this weekend after offseason hip surgery. The Ravens have been impressed with how Reed has looked in practice even though the All-Pro has admitted that he is still sore.

KC D to good to be true. We ALL know what THAT means!
People are paying more attention to the Jags offense than the Chiefs defense. Turnovers are hard to predict but they do not play a high-risk, high-reward defense with high potential for sacks and INTs. Rather, they keep it in front of them, rush 4 and drop 7, bottle up the run and try to prevent the big play. That's not a formula for points in FF.I'll hope for the best but predict:2 sacks1 INT10 points allowedGood but nothing special. Hopefuly I'm wrong.

putrid half. Bouman and MJD carving them up. Romeo better be lighting them up big time. If they don't have a massive 2nd half I'm cutting them. That Buffalo game isn't looking so sweet after seeing what they are doing to the Ravens.

Cutting them. Todd Freakin' Bouman - are you kidding me? What a horrible performance at home. They are even making the infamous Mike Sims-Walker appear.

They played a pretty bad game. The officials hurt them with some horrendous calls. As I said, they don't get pressure so you're relying on low points/turnovers. Luckily they got the pick-6.

They're a better real than fantasy D, although today's game was not a good showing.
