Kavell Conner LB-IND (1 Viewer)

Watching the game last night he benefited a lot from Angerer dropping back into coverage on probably about 60% of the plays. Also he had (guessing off what I remember) about 5 tackles on the same drive going into the half. The bucs ran the exact same play like 4-5 times where it was a deep play and each time Freeman checked down and through a dump pass to Earnest Graham. So I'm not sure if you can really say he will continue those numbers.

Nobody's going to keep posting 18 tackles a game folks so yeah, expecting that to repeat would be jumping the gun. But the guy's put up solid numbers all year long and if you look back to how that position has performed in the past in Indy it has always been a solid IDP spot to jump on. See Clint Session and feel free to keep going back for about the past 10 years. Conner's a legit LB3 for sure. I'm glad I signed him up to a multi-year deal in the offseason myself!

I agree he had a great night but his average will be around 5 solos and 2 assists. He is a great young backer like angerer really solid future. He secured his 3 down spot last night one thing that looked good I he didn't miss any tackles and that's big.

Thru 4 games he has 24 tackles and 19 assists and he has secured the 3 down role on a defense that will spend a great deal of time on the field. If those averages continue he will remain a top 5 LB in my leagues scoring system.

The problem is that the position usually does not command a highly talented player. Going back through the years while the output is nice, the turnover at the actual position is high because anyone seems to be able to be plugged in there. Next year Ernie Sims or someone else can look better and win the job, making Conner worthless.

Very true but Simms will be hurt as always and that has always been Indus downfall if Connor and angerer stay healthy I see a dominance like lofton and weatherspoon.

I agree that it is very true that talent isn't exactly something the Colts have put tons of at that WOLB slot over the years. But it has been highly productive statistically speaking and rarely do they yank a guy out just because the next guy on deck looks like they could be able to do a better job. They stick with their starters unless they give a reason (usually injury or a contract demand to be unmet). Connor's locked in fellas. At least for a couple years barring injury at least. And I think Angerer has locked himself in as the MLB as well. And I think both have enough talent to hold it down. Just my humble homer take. Simms isn't a threat to either but he does hold some value as the likely fill-in to either slot and I think he would likely be close to as productive in his numbers if that happens. And the way Colts defenders are dropping about 2-3 players per week right now the odds are pretty decent he gets his shot too!
