LB or DB in sleepers (1 Viewer)

in sleepers they have carlies from the colts listed as DB/LB, is he worth drafting and playing him in the DB slot, I would think a full time LB will outscore most DB except if they get an interception

Be careful. Cameron McGrone out performing Carlies

McGrone is listed as the starter at weak-side linebacker on the Colts' first unofficial depth chart of the preseason.

McGrone is battling Jaylon Carlies for the starting linebacker job opposite Zaire Franklin and has had an edge early in training camp. Joe Bachie could also figure into the mix opposite Franklin as well.

It was a full day of practice for Colts multi-year captain and star LB Zaire Franklin, but he was able to make his debut. The team’s LB room is the biggest question mark on their new look defense, so getting Franklin back out there should help to stabilize the position a bit. Today, LBs taking the majority of the starter snaps were Joe Bachie and Cameron McGrone. The team has been rotating between Bachie, McGrone, and Jaylon Carlies to determine who will start opposite Franklin. The standout today was yet again Bachie, who has been fantastic to start training camp. I’d imagine the plan is for Franklin to ease his way back into practice, but I think it was a good sign that they elected to have his debut happen today, even with the team in full pads.

So it looks like McGrone will be the starter at WLB with Bachie being the #1 reserve at MLB and WLB? Due to his familiarity with Lou's defense from his time in Cincy?

LBBC at this rate. All 3 have a shout at it and I see this as being a fluid situation, I picked up Carlies on some wires this summer - I wont be doing so any more.

Just replace him with James Williams, who has the same cheat code.

While you're at it, start Christian Elliss at DL.

Love seeing Bachie getting a chance at some actual playing time. His younger brother played travel baseball with my son and his dad was a coach. Joey has mostly been relegated to special teams, but he has made a career out of it!

Ransom, safety in CAR, he was everywhere last night, looked like a veteran player, is the starting there, or nickel?
He did start last night, but never know what that actually means. CAR had like 30 players sitting.

Guy in front of him loses his starting job every season - I picked up one Ransom share earlier this week.

Yeah, dunno if the juice is worth the squeeze.

Whoever wins this job, we sure they gonna keep it?

Raiders LB room became a lottery as well. D White seems to have shot to the top and Pratt is on EDGE. I see a lot of in season juggling here. Hard pass. Roberts will be hitting the wire in my last round of cuts.

Ive been watching Bachie since he was a rookie and could never understand why he was never given more time on the field. He was a sleeper for me back when he came into the league. He was also the highest rated player on the Colts all preseason according to PFF. Lou Anarumo had him over on the Bengals and gave hm his chance this year.

He has apparently won the starting job. Personally I think he keeps it and is a great sleeper pick later in drafts. This guy can play.

Cedric Gray looks like the winner starting next to Barton. Williams looked really good too but Gray is on a different level. He reads the offense like a pro, is always around the ball, can cover and blitz effectively and run sideline to sideline. I think if the Titans knew what they had in Williams and Gray, maybe they never would have brought in Barton?

Making a bold prediction....

IF Gray does indeed have the starting job and plays near 100% of the snaps, he will out produce Barton and finish inside the top 16. I think he is that good and will only get better.

Unfortunately my draft was before Gray got the boost. At the time of my draft Williams had it "locked up". Ugh.

I had put Gray up for auction in my dynasty league. Reese and Williams were both put up as well. I just stuck to who I thought would win. I have to say, with how Williams was doing and being listed as the starter, didn't think Gray was going to be given the chance.

I still think that Williams is a great hold if you have the room to do it. Gray has had the injury bug on him since being drafted and I still think they find a way to get him on the field if he isn't technically starting. Another one of those "too good to keep off the field" type of players.

I have space. He was a way late upside pick. I also took Dennis in TB and that panned out (so far). I don't plan to drop and will let the season play out.
