Dynasty LB stashes for crappy teams (1 Viewer)

With Bentley's release and the Patriots matching the RFA offer for Christian Elliss, he's one of the winners I didn't see coming.
Maybe, but I'd still bet on him being an under 80%er

I roster him and was thrilled at the news he was going to the Raiders, so I was crestfallen when NE matched given their reputation and their current situation. Then Bentley got released and I thought, “Maybe . . .”, but I think you’re right about Elliss not being an over 80% snap share guy. They’ve got Spillane at the dollar amount he makes plus others like Tavai.

I think that all depends on a few things, though. We think of the Pats as constantly rotating guys, but what does Vrabel do? There’s no Belichick nor Mayo nor really anyone on defense from that coaching tree. If it’s a front office philosophy then Elliss isn’t likely to see a large snap share.

According to Bri (and I’ve noticed in deed), Vrabel is awfully tough on his linebackers, whom he judges harshly given that it’s his former position. So who is the apple of his eye and does he normally stick with two or does he sub in and out constantly? If he does sub situationally and often, who will leave the field on third down? We know Spillane is a downhill thumper, and that Elliss is stronger in coverage, so does Spillane come off on passing downs? Does Elliss come off during obvious rushing situations?

@Bri might be able to help us into insights about Vrabel if only I could get the @ thing to work in my phone.

There we go. What say you, bud?
I think you'll know in camp.
He has an affinity for Gibby and Spillane is the one that got away.
Gibby is slow and smart and reminds me of old age Zach Thomas not young Zach.
Spillane is up there in age.

I think he's going to move them around and try things because he wants the right combo so I think you'll have to wait til camp unfortunately

Thanks, Bri, for your take. I forgot Gibbens signed with them. Now my share of Elliss looks even worse (if we assume Gibbens wins the job, which I wouldn't assume until we see the pads come on), but this sounds about right also.

Reactions: Bri
Jaylen Harrell was outstanding in camp and got an absurd amount of sacks. Two a day? Two most days. Well...many are wondering if it was just the Titans bad Ts because in-season he only had a single sack that was somehow called a QB run behind the LOS.

James Williams also had a great camp. He worked his way up a very deep ILB group that included an absurd number of former starters. Maybe 9? Ahh but the Titans kept trading for ILBs. He played late and showed speed wayyy faster than his slow 40 time which made sense for a former S. IDC what his 40 time was he can really move.

Otis Reese IV was a former S Vrabel liked but he didn't play all that much either.

Cedric Gray was a draft darling the Titans were lucky to get and oooh he went in the doghouse fast. When he got out, he went back in. By the end he only played a minute too.

Chance Campbell had an excellent preseason and looked like good luck keeping him from starting. Then he got hurt. He's a free agent but presumed to sign w TEN once he's recovered. Vrabel probably wants him too.

I think you IDP folks should take one of the top three here on your deep benches and see what happens.
They no longer have- "he's a former starter, yeah but was he good" and are pretty ripe for someone to step forward.
I like Williams best. His motor and speed suit me. Plus the Titans have been gifting passes over the middle for years n years so teams will look to keep receiving those gifts until they prove otherwise.
The Titans now have two excellent DL and added a good one. That's always opportunistic for a LB.
I think there's enough hmmm maybe here to stash one and see what happens

"We have a young player in Cedric Gray who I think we need to see perform," Callahan told Titans reporters. "I think he needs the opportunity to do it. This is the time for [him to step up]. Obviously he got hurt in [training] camp last year. He didn't come on until late in the year on special teams. He started to play really well on special teams. He had a little bit of action [on defense]. We need him to step up and have a chance to compete [for a starting gig]. James Williams is another young player [at the position]. These are guys we think have upside and potential. We have to coach them into it. Those are the guys I think are going to be the core of it, with Cody [Barton]. We're really counting on those young players to step up."
Didn't mention Reese

Barton was cut so Williams and Gray as of now.
Edit-
I mixed up the two players with similar names. Sorry about that.

Here's the LB corps as of now
Linebackers (12): ILB Cody Barton, ILB Cedric Gray, ILB Otis Reese IV, ILB James Williams, ILB Curtis Jacobs, ILB Kyron Johnson, OLB Arden Key, OLB Dre'Mont Jones, OLB Jaylen Harrell, OLB Lorenzo Carter, OLB Ali Gaye, OLB Khalid Duke
