We need to keep 5 players. This is a 12 team head to head league.

4 pts/HR

3 pts/triple

2 pts/double

1 pt/single

1 pt./RBI

1 pt./run

-1 pt./error

-1 pt./passed ball by catcher

Pitching is irrelevant because we use entire pitching staffs and I won't keep a staff.

Here is my roster:

J Varitek

M Barrett

J Giambi

M Lamb

K Youkilis

M Giles

I Kinsler

F Sanchez

M Lowell

T Tulowitzki

B Hall

C Duncan

B Giles

P Burrell

M Cuddyer

L E. Gonzalez

M Holliday

T Glaus

D Ortiz

Holliday and Ortiz seem to be no-brainers. Tulozitzki is a rising star. Should I keep Kinsler because the position is thin? Lowell was solid last year, but he is aging. How about Youkilis and Burrell who were both streaky?

Burrell

Lowell

I've been burned by Burrell more than once. However, he came on big-time in the second half--almost as if the light finally came on. (I am targeting him this year.)

Lowell has another couple of seasons of very productive play.

Burrell's splits:

1st Half: 203/365/368

8 HR

32 RBI

2nd Half: 300/431/612

22 HR

65 RBI

Those numbers are too extreme to be a fluke. Something changed in this guy, something for the better.

His 2007 pre/post-All Star splits are wide, but aren't necessarily a sign of some permanent improvementSept 2007 .209/.376/.451Postseason .182/ .308/.455 (small sample)Burrell is 31 with 4000 MLB ABs. He is who he's been. Don't expect him to bat .300 over a full season.

I like those guys. If I were to dump one of the six, it'd be Youkilis because you can find similiar 1Bers that can mash in the draft at value.

You scoring system is total bases with bonuses for R & RBI. Youkilis' walks only help him in R although his doubles help. He's pretty much of a push w/ Burrell in this format tm because Burrell isn't penalized for his below average AVG. Chris Duncan is another guy who fits this same model if he plays against LHP.

based on your format I think you should go with:

Holliday

Ortiz

Tulo

Burrell

Giambi or Kinsler
