Keeper decisions in 10-team auction PPR Superflex (1 Viewer)

We can keep 4 players in our 10-team PPR auction Superflex with a $250 cap. Which 4 of these would you prefer:

QB Prescott $19
RB Achane $12
RB McCaffrey $59
RB Pacheco $15
RB Kyren Williams $35
WR Addison $15
WR R. Rice $6
WR Shakir $6
WR DeVonta Smith $19

As far as McCaffrey goes, in recent years the top available players have gone for around $60 in the auction.

I think I keep the following:
  • Dak ($19): You will likely be screwed at QB if you don't keep Dak. Seems like a decent price for a SF league but I have no idea what QB prices are in your league typically
  • Achane ($12): I think the upside is worth the $12. Seems like a good price for the upside he brings but can understand if you don't want to take that risk
  • Pacheco ($15): Came on strong last year. I assume this is a solid RB2 price tag so I would keep him.
  • CMC ($59): Definitely not a bargain based on your comments that the top players go for $60. So while not a bargain he isn't an overpay either. I think it's worth it to lock up the odds on best FF player going into the season.

NOTE: I may alter this if you can only start 1 or 2 RB's, but if you can start three I think this is a good starting point. I don't really like any of your WR choices at their prices mainly because of the off field stuff around Addison and Rice. Shakir might be a consideration but I don't think he will go for much more than that anyway and it leaves you some flexibility to pivot to someone else if you like them better for a better deal.

Thanks. We start 2 RBs and a regular flex, so I can start 3 RB and 2 QB.

You think it's worth it to save $20 to keep Pacheco over Williams? I think it might be a good idea to keep Smith since that's just a tad under his going price and bidding wars do happen so...
but besides Smith over Pacheco, I agree with "Best player available" gally. It works better with 2 names but its just gally.

or if you kept Prescott, Williams, CMC and Smith then thats $132 leaving you $115...is that too much? I can understand Gallys argument for keeping Achane at that price though.

I am worried that Kyren will not live up to that price. I see a bunch of risk tied into him going into this year with injury and Corum cutting into some of his touches. It is just a worry for me that I don't want to risk at $35

As far as Smith goes, I think that is a bit pricy also and there are many options that can perform as good or better than Smith that you can get for cheaper. So not keeping him at market price gives you flexibility to get someone just like him for less as the auction is happening.

I didn’t mention that a quirk of our rules is that if you keep 4, one must have been a rookie the previous year. Which means I cannot keep this combo. I have to keep at least one of Achane, Rice or Addison. I was figuring on keeping Achane.

In any case, for budget reasons I am not comfortable with keeping both McCaffrey and Williams. I am certainly open to keeping one.

according to that fantasypros site he's going for $21. While yes, there are cheaper/better options the risk here is that EVERYONE is going to try to draft the same players so in the long run those cheaper options might not actually end up being cheaper. Now maybe if it's an auto draft and the auto draft software will stop bidding @ X price but with humans expect bidding wars. As a Pacheco owner it pains me to say it but I expect some regression from him as I think there might be more throwing this year. I think the $4 difference between Pacheco and Smith is negligible. Or maybe the Eagles won't pass as much now that they have Barkley and Smith won't be as valuable. Maybe taking the 3 RBs is a better option and he can spend most of his attention on other spots. I'd be interested in knowing the outcome of his draft.

I am sure a couple guys get bid up but there are a lot of guys like Smith. Unless you have a feel that one or two will greatly outperform expectations you can likely weed out the bargains. It's why I think you let Smith go. I could be wrong and there is potential that every guy has two owners driving up the bid but usually that doesn't happen. There are typically bargains somewhere

It is humans. We are bidding in a Microsoft Teams chat room. I will try to remember to post an update after the draft.

About half the league is Eagles fans, FYI.

Pretty easy IMO

QB Prescott $19 - Super Flex no brainer
RB Achane $12 - Rookie
RB McCaffrey $59 - Best player in the league
RB Pacheco $15 - $20 cheaper than Williams, basically 3rd rounder + $20 > 2nd rounder
RB Kyren Williams $35 - See above. I want ammunition to exploit the draft
WR Addison $15 - Gets drafted several rounds after Archane
WR R. Rice $6 - You have to many other good options to take this risk
WR Shakir $6 - see above
WR DeVonta Smith $19 - He's being draft a round after Achane and Pacheco. Why would you pay more for less.

Another reason to toss him back. Let the Iggle's fans burn up cash on him.

Exactly. Beat me to it

It McCaffrey still worth keeping for $59 with the calf strain?

QB Dak $19 seems like a value #17 overall FGB. Q15
RB Achane $12 Seems like a good value if he can stay healthy. He'll crush the 12 games he does play. #32 overall. RB5
RB CMC $59 = Not at the price even with your $1off coupon. Let someone pay retail. CMC #24 overall RB 6.
RB Pacheco $15 = could be a value. #52 overall RB12
RB Kyren $35 = not at that price. Value is boosted by Scheme more so than talent. + Corum is there for a reason. #50 overall RB12
WR Addison $15 = expensive for QB situation currently. #94 overall WR#29
WR Rice: $6 he's cheap but XWorthy is the dude I like. #91 overall WR27
WR Shakir $6 I believe is a good value and likely early WR1 with Kincaid WR2 Coleman emerging WR2/3 #156 overall WR 58 ( I think is way too low... )
WR Devonta $19 Seems a good value. HE's the Top WR2 more of a WR1a. I don't know what the other WRs are going for. I like his WR2 situation more than Addison's in MIN. Dsmith is #60overall WR15 Smith might be

1. DAK must keep $19
2.. Achane & Pacheco. 2x solid RBs. $15, $12
2. See above
4. WR. Shakir $6 or Devonta Smith. $19 I'm not wild about Rice at the moment. I think he's going through a maturity phase.

IF you go Shakir. I believe you have QB, 2xRBs and WR1 on Buff for $50 total.
You can buy a top WRs or rookie stud. You can still buy RB like CMC... start the bidding at $50. $200 left.
If you got Devonta smith $19. I think it's still decent. Good problem to have. $63 total amount used.

I think Shakir sell for more than $6.
$55 for gibbs?
$40 for JCook?

$200 or $187 budget remaining
QB1 Dak $19
WR1 $40
WR2 Smith $19
WR3? $20
RB1 Achane $12
RB2 Pacheco $15
TE1 $40
SFLEX QB2 $25
BN RB3 $11
BN WR4 $7
BN TE2 $8
BN WR5 $4
K $6
DEF $8
Above is DSmith Version $250

Swap WR3 with Shakir $6.
QB1 $19 Dak
WR1 $40
WR2 $33
WR3 $6 Shakir
RB1 Pacheco $15
RB2 Achance $12
TE1 $40
SFlex $25
K, $6
Def $8
BN $30

QB $44
WR $79
RB $25
TE $40
K/D $14
BN 30.

IF YOU WANTED CMC
You could free up $46 dollars among starters below.
QB2 $12, WR1, $35, WR2 $25, TE1 $25, D/K $9 = $46 freed up.
If he's $60 That leaves $16 for Bench.
Those 3 RBs would be a strength.
