Keeper for unique league (1 Viewer)

12 team league, non PPR. The usual 1 point per 10 yards (or 30 yds passing), but TDs are 10 points. If it's a pass, it's split 5 each for the passer and receiver. If it's a run, the runner gets all 10. So, RBs that score are a huge priority and a must for success. We keep one player. My choice is between Dameon Pierce and Rhamondre Stevenson. Until the Zeke signing, I expected it to be Stevenson. But I expect Zeke's somewhat limited usage to include much of the GL work. That would kill Stevenson's upside. Pierce likely has a lower floor, but should be the main man in Houston including GL. I think any improvement for that team should make Pierce an RB1 in this league. Thoughts?

I do think Pierce is going to fend off SIngletary and remain the backfield star, especially near the goal line. The NE split is murkier right now. Ultimately, I agree with your assessment; HOU may get fewer overall opportunities but Pierce will most likely get the goal line ops, while Stevenson could be at a 50/50 or worse situation there. I won't consider him an RBI but Pierce is the safer and better play.

I go with the better player and that is Stevenson. I am not too worried about Zeke taking too much away and RS didn't have a ton of GL TD's last year and still finished as an RB1. I go with that.

Stevenson was not an RB1 in my league. He was RB15 overall, RB20 average per game. Pierce was RB19 average, including two zero games. I just think there is more upside to Pierce. I don't see Stevenson increasing his TDs much with Zeke there. Without more TDs, he has little path to RB1 in this league.

Sounds like you have your answer then. Pretty simple if that is your outlook.
