Keeper League Strategy Question (1 Viewer)

Dr. No

Footballguy
In both of my leagues (one is a 10 man league - the other 12) the 12th round is your "keeper round"

You can keep whoever you select in that round for up to 4 years at the price of your last round pick.

Obviously in that round there is a strategy shift to taking younger or unrealized talent.

The best rookies will already be taken... what kinds of "deep sleeper" type players might you target in the 12th round that aren't getting talked about or in some cases even drafted at all? I suppose 2nd and 3rd year players that haven't made the leap could be candidates also

I have a few players in mind, but want to see what the Pool thinks first in terms of what strategy they'd go after

Ok, so you are looking at players in the 120-150 range.

Looking at the ADP rankings on the site, a few I would target in that area are:

Donald Brown - definite pick if he is there when you pick, although he will probably go in round 9 or 10 at the latest

It looks like all 3 Chicago WRs are in that range or right before, so if you have one you prefer and he is still there, you may strike gold

Arian Foster is there, although with the latest news to come out, odds are he will be gone.

Santonio Holmes - yes he is suspended for 4 games, but he had a nice season last year, and is only 25 or 26.

Kenny Britt - if you think he is the real deal and not "the question", he may still be there.

Assuming there were no keepers from last year? (this is the startup year?)

Guys like Dexter McCluster (KC) and Mike Williams (TB) have an ADP later than Round 12. I'd strongly consider Anthony Dixon (SF) since he is now Gore's backup and looks to be the part.

Maybe an Oakland WR? They should all be still on the board and could have potential value now that JaMarcus is at home playing Madden.
