Keeper to Dynasty transition? Who to keep, Help year one. (1 Viewer)

We are turning from a redraft to a almost full dynasty - 12 team league.

This year we have to keep anywhere from 10-20 players before next year keeping 30. (If i select 10 players I'd have an 11th round pick, If I select 20, I'll pick 21st

Last year's roster was 24 - It's a H2H points league where pitchers generally score more (9 starts a week, 2RP) We start C,1,2,3,SS, MI,CI,OF,OF,OF,U,U, 6 SP, 2RP.

Roster (I've put a K next to who I think I should keep, thoughts?) Which is 16 leaving potentially 4 left

Lucroy

Abrueu (K)

Altuive (K)

Machado (K)

A. Russell

B. Zobrist

A. Rendon (K)

G. Springer (K)

B. Buxton (K)

M. Betts (K)

B. Hamilton

M. Sano (K)

Y. Puig (K)

Sale (K)

Cueto (K)

Ventura

Price (K)

Matz (K)

Bumgardner (K)

Britton

Giles

Teheran

McHugh

Rodon (K)

Carrassco (K)

In a keeper I would for sure include Russell especially if you have no restrictions on how long you can keep a guy.

Depending on your scoring system for SB's I think you almost have to keep Hamilton unless SB's are scored very little (in my keeper league we have SB's the same points as HR's to allow you to build in multiple ways so Hamilton is very valuable).

I would also keep Tehran and Ventura. Both young SP's that are worthwhile to keep especially if you are talking as a 19th or 20th round pick.

A stolen base is worth 2 points, HR is 5.

I will include Russell, I worry about Teheran's team more than anything but still young. Wasn't even thinking Ventura, I like Giles but RP's don't really matter.

I misread, you get to keep 4 more.

Keep Ruseell, Lucroy, Ventura, and probably Teheran.

Make sure you only start Teheren and home / he has weird splits.

Might as well keep the closers. You have two good ones. Agreed re Russell. I wouldn't keep anymore starting pitchers though. Your staff is good enough to win as is. Last one is Lucroy or Zobrist.

Ok  I have 17/20

deciding on three players in this bunch.

Lucroy,Zobrist, Hamilton

Giles, Britton, Ventura, Teheran, McHugh

was thinking. Giles, Teheran, Venura.

Was able to trade:

Price, McHugh, Ventura, Billy Hamilton for Strasburg and Jose Fernandez.

Was able to sell the older Price and his 737 fantasy points projections high.

So now my updated keeper list - After selecting Giles.  is 19/20

Lucroy, Teheran, Zobrist, Britton for one final spot.  Do I want to lock up catcher? or Both RP spots?  Or just make my pitching staff dominant (Sale, Fernandez, Strasburg, Cueto, Bumgardner, Carrasco, Matz, Rodon, Teheran)

Britton by a good amount in roto, but I don't play h2h or points so no clue just how much it kills a reliever.

I personally think you should keep Lucroy.  He's got the highest ceiling after an injury riddled season last year and C is such a tough position to fill as is.

Closers in H2H are generally projected at like 400-450 points.  They can lose you a bunch with blown saves.  Teheran is a middle-tier pitcher estimated at 550 points (however multiple pitchers estimated at this price)

What did you guys think of the

Price/McHugh/Ventura/Hamilton trade that netted me Strasburg/Fernandez?   Steal in a keeper/dynasty? or Did I give up too much with Price this year.

I like it for you with the hope that Jose still is allowed 200 innings.  I think Strasburg pitches well in a contract year; he was hot to end the year.  My opinion is a little biased here due to the fact that Jose and Stras are two of my three P keepers in my league.
