Keeper trade help (1 Viewer)

12-team keeper league. Finished 3rd in league so will have the 10th pick in each round. You have to keep at least 4 keepers and can keep up to 6. If you only keep four, and have a fifth round pick (which is the first round of the draft), you can pick in the first round. Your second pick will be in the sixth round, and so on. If you keep five, then the first round in which you can draft is the sixth round. (Essentially your first four keepers represent rounds 1-4 of the draft).

Right now, due to trades, I don't have a fifth round pick. My first pick will come in the sixth round. This means I can only keep 4 (since I don't have a fifth round pick to keep a fifth player).

My top players are Jayden Daniels, De'Von Achane, Tee Higgins, Drake London, and Trey McBride. I would have to either drop or trade one of them since I'm only able to keep four.

Another owner offered me their 5th round pick (5.02), and their 2026 7th round pick for Jayden Daniels, a 2025 16th round pick, and a 2026 17th round pick. That seems like a no-brainer to accept, and while I would lose Daniels, there will be some other really good QBs I could draft. With my first pick, I could either pick up a really good veteran or a rookie.

Thoughts?

So you basically get a 2nd this year and a 3rd next year? Seems like a light offer to me but I'm stingy. Maybe Ward does fine but I think next year is the year to get a QB, What vets could you get?

The 5th round is the 1st round of the draft so I get the 2nd overall pick. Its a 1QB league so I wouldn't pick a quarterback this early. The 7th rounder next year would be a 3rd round pick. There will be some quality vets and obviously rookies available after that first pick (likely Jeanty).

The 5.02 is more like a 5th round pick (in terms of value) since 49 players (at least) will be off the board. It's hard to really say what's best for you without knowing who will be available at 5.02

that's what I meant, a first and 3rd. I don't think Jeanty will be there at 5.02 but maybe someone just loves Hampton or Tet. I'm still thinking no but someone smarter than me can set me straight.

if you make the trade could you then keep 5/6 players? Do you have other freezable players? Does the guy proposing the trade have guys worth keeping that you could have him throw into the deal?

In general, for a 1 QB league i wouldn't keep a QB unless there are 10-ish QB's frozen so you don't have a shot at a top QB. That is a question only you can answer. You have to also consider that by making the trade you are also getting to keep a guy you were going to have to let go (because you couldn't keep 5 guys). That is part of the evaluation as well.

Too many moving parts to really give a proper recommendation here. In general, it's not a terrible offer but would depend on who you could get at QB, who becomes your 4th keeper, and whether you could now keep 5 (and who that might be).

My four keepers would be Higgins, London, McBride, and Achane if I don't take the trade. If I make the trade, I have the option of likely keeping David Montgomery as my fifth keeper, or putting him into the pool and drafting the best player available (or a rookie).

Looking at rosters, as some teams have dropped some of their players, the QBs likely to be kept are Hurts, Mahomes, Burrows (maybe), Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson.
