Keepers and Round value (1 Viewer)

Finished 4th last year, first place out of the money. Keep 5, 2QB, no PPR. Lose the round the player was drafted in.

Wondering which guy(s) are the best value at their positions when rounds are factored in. Going to either have to try to trade a few or throw them back:

Quarterbacks (Figure I have to keep 2, maybe keep 3 and not worry about the position at all during the draft):
Winston-Round 3
Goff-5
Garapollo-13

Running Backs (Don't love how early the good ones are, can I run out 0 RB keepers):
Fournette-1
McCafferey-2
Henry-6
Jamaal Williams-10

Wide Receivers (Only no-brainer here, but only one. Rest are good, not great)
Diggs-7
Thielen-12
Jeffery-14
K Allen-19

Can keep a 6th guy who is a 2nd/3rd year player that had <3 starts. Options are Kupp and Mike Williams. Kupp seems to be easy decision, though Williams pedigree could sway me if he looks like he has it together in preseason. Only other possibility would be Aaron Jones. (Kupp's a 17th, Jones is a 16th, Williams an 8th)

Allen's an easy keep, so that brings me down to four slots. In a 2 QB, I'm keeping two of the QBs. Leaning Goff/Garapollo. Jeffery and J Williams seem easy tosses. My first round pick is likely 6th or 7th overall after keepers. If I toss Fournette and CMC back, at the worst I can likely redraft CMC in the 1st. Winston likely would also eat up one of the spots before my first pick if he goes back.

Not sure if I can go with a run and shoot option of 3QB and 3WR, keep Henry over Winston or one of the Minn WRs and which Minn WR would be a better option. Start 2QB, 2RB, 3WR 1 Flex, 12 team league.

If I am reading this right, the players that I would keep:

Fournette - 1
Allen - 19
Goff - 5
Garapollo - 13
Then, I might keep either Thielen or Diggs, and I am leaning towards Thielen as better value

Kupp would definitely stay with me at 17.  Yes, IMO, Fournette for RBs/WRs/TEs projection wise has 1st round projections, so I would seriously keep him.

I would keep the following:

  • Garrapolo (13) - This is the easiest keeper due to a start 2 QB requirement.  The value is great
  • K. Allen (19) - This is crazy good value although a non PPR hurts him slightly.  There is still no way to pass on this value
  • Goff (5) - Not crazy about this freeze but since it is a two QB league you probably are forced into it assuming that the top 15-20 QB's will be kept (you didn't say how many teams but I would assume almost every team will keep 2 QB's.  Going into the season with Goff/Garrapolo as your starting QB's gives you quite a bit of upside however there is some significant risk too.  These guys aren't proven commodities.
  • Thielen (12) - this is strictly the best value of the remaining players listed.  He is a solid top 15-20 WR and at that round price is very good.  Diggs is close but the 5 round increase in price is too much to overcome.
  • Fournette (1) - I would assume if you throw him back there is no way he would make it back to your pick at #6/7 so you will be getting some value out of that pick.  If this was a PPR then McCaffrey would probably be the choice as a 2nd round pick for him would be good enough value while still keeping the first round flexibility open.
I don't really think anybody else should be considered.  They are lesser values for close to the pedigree of the players I have listed so they fall out of contention.

12 teams, 20-21 QBs kept per year, with the teams that don't keep 2 looking to pick up their second starter early. Also a fair amount of emphasis on third QBs. Eli Manning and Palmer were 1st round picks last year. Tyrod went round 2. Kizer and Flacco went round 3 and Bradford and A Smith followed in the 4th.

I appreciate the responses.

If QBs are going that early, I agree with others above at Goff Garapollo Allen Fournette Theilen Kupp

If QB are going that hard and heavy, I reluctantly agree with Goff and Jimmy G.  Allen is also a no-brainer.  Despite the high price tag, I also keep Fournette.  I only have Jeffery a couple of spots below the Minnesota duo, and he's not getting used to a new QB, and is cheaper.  Therefore, I'd keep Jeffery as my 5th keeper.  Lastly, especially if you can wait until training camps open, I keep Aaron Jones over Cooper Kupp.  I have a good feeling about him this year.  And yes, I think you need to get on the phone and start wheeling and dealing with your other owners.  If Eli and Palmer were 1st rounders last year, and Flacco was a 3rd, Winston would be worth a fair bit to a team without 2 QBs this year.  To say nothing of the aforementioned Minnesota WR duo, and maybe McCaffery as well.  Good luck!

Yea, with the need for 2 QB's i would keep Goff and Jimmy G, Fournette, Diggs and Allen and yes either Kupp or Williams depending on how they look in preseason. Allen in the 19th round is such a no brainer.  The only reason not to keep Fournette is if you throw him back in the pool do you think you will get a better RB1 with your 1st round pick. My guess is no.
