Pretty interesting. He looks like a better handcuff than Harrison or Morris.

This article? These are Schwartz's quotes from that article:In 14-16 team leagues, picking up a guy like this can be very valuable. If you read the whole article, it is clear that Schwartz thinks Williams could fill the exact role meant for Leshoure. That could mean 8-10 carries as well as goal line work in a highly potent offense.
Phil Zaroo from MLive is the one who thinks Williams will replace Leshoure. Schwartz gave no indication what role he sees for Williams or how he will be used in the rotation."We like his skill set," said Lions head coach Jim Schwartz. "He's still a young player. The Redskins went out and got (Tim) Hightower this year and he sort of got edged out in that (competition). I think we were very lucky to get him."
"(He's) a little bigger runner," Schwartz said, "very productive in a role last year for the Redskins. He scored some touchdowns, caught a lot of passes, played on third down - did a lot of different things we liked when we saw him this year in preseason. "He played exclusively as a fullback (in Washington), but we saw him as a runner at LSU. He's a little bit bigger than some of the guys that we have."
I own Best and thought that the clear handcuff was Harrison. This muddies the picture and I don't like it. I like having a handcuff who is the clear option and not having to carry 2 handcuffs, roster space that I can't afford. For this reason this is somewhat bad news to Best owners IMO. I think Arizona would have been better off grabbing Williams than Taylor. Detroit already had plenty of backups in Harrison and Morris as well as Brown.I see this as more capping Harrison's upside if Best goes down and Williams is actually effective with Detroit's OL. Harrison is still the second most explosive option on that team and will get touches if he keeps rolling out large gainers, but I could see another RB taking over at the GL. Best is a different beast and you don't draft him for lots of opps at the one yard line. He's not 2009 Portis. So if I own Best this doesn't really scare me much, yet.
That's true. Just when Harrison affirmatively beats out Brown, the Lions go and add another tailback. I still think Harrison is the call, though, just because he has so much more upside than Morris or Williams. The latter two seem fairly pedestrian low RB2 types if they manage to win out and Best gets injured.I own Best and thought that the clear handcuff was Harrison.
