I'm not saying you're wrong, but bear in mind that he's a rookie. When you think about what guys like Michael Floyd, Brian Quick, AJ Jenkins, and Justin Blackmon are doing, it's relatively impressive that Wright is able to get on the field and catch some passes. I think we all got spoiled by Julio and Green last year to expect instant impact from every highly-touted rookie WR. More often than not, there are growing pains. Makes it hard to judge what you're seeing on the field. There have been guys like DHB and Andre Roberts who literally look like different players three years into their NFL careers than when they were rookies.guy you should sell, stat line is ahead of the player. looks overmatched at times and runs routes that won't net him big yardage. with Britt back he will get a huge chunk of targets and I think you will see a lot of 4 rec 30 yard games. I don't see big time talent here either, if you can find someone who believes (shouldn't be that hard judging the posts here) sell him after this game. people love to dream about rookies
fair enough but I think the general attitude toward rookies is so dreamy you can get major value right now because people think they are getting WR3 value now and high end WR2 value for the future. he might become that but I have seen enough to think the odds are against that try and trade him.I'm not saying you're wrong, but bear in mind that he's a rookie. Wright didn't run by anyone. The Steelers defense was confused and not set and there was no Safety near him. It was simply blown coverage.Looks like he is running by people as easily as he did in college. He only clocked 4.6 at the combine, but seems far more explosive than that. He's the outside WR on the top of the screen in this clip. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/0ap2000000079607/QB-Hasselbeck-to-WR-Wright-35-yd-passI'd like to see Tennessee take some more deep shots with him. We haven't really seen that yet. Whether or not he can hit the big plays on a consistent basis will probably go a long way towards determining his ultimate ceiling.
Did a quick calculation and without his long catch of 35 yards this year (his only over 20 yards), through halftime today he has 34 catches for 258 yards - 7.6 YPC. Great PPR guy but I'm not seeing a game breaker.Big Wright fan here. Got him in a bunch of leagues. Glad that he's been catching a lot of passes. On the other hand, wouldn't mind seeing him used more downfield. "Take a shot every time Kendall Wright catches a pass shorter than 10 yards" would be pretty deadly drinking game.
because that's what people on here do.Why would you take away his 35 yard reception? Your point is made well enough without cherry picking stats.
See above, it was blown coverage. Watch the video if you don't believe it.Why would you take away his 35 yard reception? Your point is made well enough without cherry picking stats.
I agree with this, I don't see a huge upside here but he should be a nice possession(PPR) WR.Did a quick calculation and without his long catch of 35 yards this year (his only over 20 yards), through halftime today he has 34 catches for 258 yards - 7.6 YPC. Ah. So you went through all the touchdowns of the players you would compare him too and subtracted out the blown coverages? Because otherwise you are cherry picking data. Coverages get blown, its part of the game.See above, it was blown coverage. Watch the video if you don't believe it.Why would you take away his 35 yard reception? I disagree, I would definitely want to know if a guy's biggest play is a blown coverage. There is a difference, especially if it seems like a trend (so far, Wright has no real big yardage plays except for a blown coverage).Ah.
