Kenny Watson going forward (1 Viewer)

Watson has clearly been the better of the two this season, but it seems likely that Johnson will keep his starting job. Are there any Cinci homers out there who think Rudi will continue to have value?

I agree that Watson has been the better of the two. Why reward Johnson for mediocre play. yet punish Watson for being great in his place?Rudi Johnson looks old and slow.

I don't mean to interrupt the conversation between yourself and you, but it appears clear to me that this is going to be a full blown RBBC but it will be done under the guise of easing Rudi back into the starting lineup. essentially killing the value for both. In a ppr league I actually see Watson being similar to DeAngelo. Both should be starting, but are relegated to recieving threat.

lol :lmao:

Watson has performed just as they expected him to before the season began if they ever needed to call on him. I see no reason that Watson would get more carries than he did in week one whenever Rudi is as healthy as he was in week one.

It isn't like Rudi Johnson has been very good for 5 years. Sure, bench him. The kid has done well for a couple weeks.

Newsflash! Runningbacks in the NFL take a pounding and after years of being pounded they begin to lose the the qualities that made them great. Once they are a step slower that step may be the difference between getting through a hole and getting stopped at the line. Not saying Rudi hasnt been great but he has looked very average and slow this year, even in his big game. Maybe Rudi comes back and looks great but there is an equal chance that the last few years have taken its toll on him.

What is the forecast for this weekend? I have both, but I recall the last time (@SEA) Rudi was to be "eased" into the game he played the first quarter and that was it. Who is the better horse to bet on this weekend?

A bit of a quandary unless you are in a PPR league. in my case I'm rolling the dice with Watson and banking on a few receptions which are better than nothing. Problem is Rudi could go off - higher risk, higher reward.

At this point, I'm starting Norwood over Watson in one league. And Henry over Rudi in another.
I am doing the same thing right now but am uneasy about it. Both RBs will split carries. It is just a matter of who gets more. I am convincing myself to believe the reports that ATL worked on getting Norwood more involved. Both are a risk, but as a flex I am hoping it doesn't kill me.

Rudy Johnson has performed well for the last few years, no one is saying otherwise. Last year he had a slight drop off in YPC, this year he has rushed for an average of 3.0 YPC. Watson has been very, very good. Watsons legs are fresher, he catches the ball out of the backfield better and Rudi has well over a thousand carry's of wear and tear on his legs the last three years alone. It just maybe fresh vs. tired legs. Ill take Watson.
