I tried to search, I know there was a link for NFl player contracts and how long etc....

Just curious what his status is. Was it a one year deal? Can he be a RFA?

thanks, I am interested in his contract status as my guess is that the Colts didn't sign him long term, with the way he performed this past week in Addai's absence, and the way he has looked in other action for Addai oreseason and regular he has looked very good.

Kenton Keith was signed to something called a "reserve/future contract" in January, just like Lance Moore in New Orleans.

Now, what is this?

This is a contract that is given to players for the upcoming season (which officially started March 1st) prior to the beginning of the season (see January/February signings) for players that have not been on an NFL roster.

Since KKeith was coming from the CFL, he wasn't on an NFL roster or practice squad so he was eligible for this.

So, the Colts have him under wraps for the 2007 season, and that's it - for now.
