Since I started playing fantasy I have only participated in redrafts. Well, my main league is now a keeper league and I managed to put together a nice squad with more than a few guys worth keeping. From what I understand, we can keep up to 5 players. Here is my squad down below:

QB: Big Ben, Kaepernick

RB: Trent Richardson, DMC, Beanie Wells, David Wilson

WR: AJ Green, Julio Jones, Brandon Marshall, Antonio Brown

TE: Heath Miller

K: who cares

D/ST: who cares

So, we keep 2-5 players. I see 5 players on this squad that I would like to keep for next year. Is it not wise to keep than many players? What's the right way to maneuver your way through a keeper league? Any feedback is appreciated.

If you can only keep a small number of players, get elite RB and hold them forever.

When a player like TR comes into the league, it can be beneficial to not keep anyone, and try and secure the #1 draft pick to get the elite RB. There are no rookies like that this year. You should keep what you have. You have exactly 5 players worth keeping.

I wouldn't underestimate David Wilson in your format. He's as good as any 2013 rookie RB. However, if your leaguemates are as green as you are, you might just throw Wilson back and take him a round or two early next year.

Every league is different. You must have some sort of league constitution that spells this out.

My assumption is if you keep less than 5, you get compensatory picks at the beginning of the draft. Let's say team A keeps 2 players, team B keeps 4 players, and the rest keep 5. Team A gets first pick and second pick, then there's a round where both A & B pick (probably non-snake order based on last year's standings), then the normal draft starts (snake order).Of course there are plenty of ways to make this more complicated, for example, you lose the pick in the round you took the player last year. So if you took TR in the 1st and you keep him you don't have a 1st. Then it becomes a straightforward "is this player worth this round pick this year" decision.

Thought at first you meant Kepler leagues. Been in the Retrograde Dynasty League since last season.
