Kevin Boss - TE, Giants (1 Viewer)

Yeah, pretty obscure player here, but I like what I've been able to find on this guy. He's a big, athletic (played college hoops too) player with good hands and good speed. Everything I've read has been positive on this guy, though of course there's not a lot of info out there.

His biggest obstacle to value, in addition to simply being a raw prospect from a small school, is of course Shockey. My impression from afar, however, is that Shockey my be falling out of favor with the Giants given his outstpoken nature and the relatively modest returns given his talent. I've also seen first hand his propensity for mental mistakes.

What I'm wondering aloud here is whether a player like Boss might suddenly become a good FF TE prospect if I'm right about Shockey likely moving to another team in the next year or two. Anyone have any insight here?

I thought Mike Matthews was the bonafide sleeper TE in NY?

Have not heard much, but have taken him in the last round of a couple of leagues for this reason.

NO hard facts, but I put him on my taxi squad in a 45 man Dynasty. I think hes similar to Dave Thomas in that he may not have value now but hes got the skill set down the road. I heard good things out of camp early on, nothing latley. Did you happen to hear this interview ? LINK

That's who has done better (MUCH better) this preseason.Boss is PS at best.

Boss made an impression early in camp, but hasn't been able to translate that into the preseason game action. He's certainly capable of making highlight reel catches, but has he shown the consistency in his approach to other aspects of the game to warrant fantasy consideration? I'm not sure.
