Kevin Kolb to Arizona? (1 Viewer)

Kolb is not happy with his current situation with the team but will not be a distraction for the team, sources told Jason La Canfora, of NFL Network. Kolb knows that he will be a starter in the league in the near future and is not worried about his situation.

So who needs a QB?

Arizona

Detroit

Oakland

Cleveland

Tennessee

Arizona is the blatant choice?

Arizona really likes what they've seen of Max Hall. I don't see them going hard after Kolb.
And Philly really liked Kolb until he got onto the field to actually play. There are, at least in my eyes, too many unknowns on Hall. You can't get much worse then the Eagles O-Line, which effected how Kolb played. What is the worse that can happen...Arizona gets a halfway decent backup if Hall is better?Oakland and Cleveland would be the other two options. Maybe Buffalo as well, because trent edwards is trend edwards.

I hear what you're saying, I just think that Kolb would be better suited for a team that desperately needs a starting QB, not a back-up. I think Oakland, Cleveland, and Buffalo and are all good options.....especially Cleveland with the Heckert/Philly connection.

Cleveland or Buffalo. Swap positions in 1st round of next years draft and Philly gets a 2nd or 3rd round pick as well. And they free up $12M.

This would be beyond ridiculous for either one of those teams. Right now both teams look to be in line for a top-5 draft pick in a draft that has a lot of QB talent right now.

Nothing is guaranteed. They could end up picking top 5, or maybe they won't. Someone could trade up in front of them to get a qb. A qb at #1 or in the top 5 is going to demand a lot more money than Kolb is getting. The guy who drafted Kolb in Philly is now the GM in Cleveland.I don't think it's beyond ridiculous.

Hall is a fan choice because of his look against 3rd stringers and practice squad in the preseason. His play does not translate to the NFL regular season. That said, Philly isn't trading Kolb. I see this Vick vs. Kolb situation as the dreaded QBBC.

KK to the Cards makes sense..but any QB to the Cards make sense.

The Cards should beg Warner to take off his dancing shoes and come back ala Farve.

Maybe, but the coaches said that he was the best QB during all of preseason and training camp. They definitely like him.

Kind of like they would not trade McNabb within the division.
:goodposting: Two years ago the Bears traded for a franschise QB. I don't dismiss any trade rumors/thought/suggestions automatically. Too many bizarre things have happened - especially in the last 5 years. Favre playing for Minny? The Bears having a passing offense? Moss is a Patriot? Marshall to Miami? Gonzo in Atlanta? Do I have to go on?

Reid's holding his cards close to the chest. If he was spewing about wanting to trade Kolb, then Kolb immediately loses value. Look for Kolb to be moved within the next 10 days.

Don't know where he is going, but if this lockout continues to look as though it will happen then I fully believe kolb has played his last game in eagles green.

Detroit is happy with Stafford, he's going nowhere. TEN is winning with VY, and he's showing improvement and maturity, too. I don't think either of those teams are in the QB market at this time.

Add Buffalo to the list, and I think that's your potential QB market at this time.

The guy who drafted Kolb in Philly is still the coach in Philly.Reid makes all draft-day decisions, and has since 2005 or so.
Reid has the final say, Heckert was the one who wanted and pushed for Kolb and worked the trade to get him. From an ESPN article:"The Eagles former general manager Tom Heckert, who had a big say in drafting Kolb in the second round of the '07 draft..."

Why in the world would Philly trade Kolb? He had a bad half, then got hurt. In his absence, Vick played out of his mind. It is not an indictment of Kolb's ability.

I also believe that Vick is an UFA after this season.

Not going to happen.

Not saying its an idea I support, but: Kolb still has a pretty good amount of value (some rumors of offers coming in of two second rounders last year floated around this site). With the NFL quite possibly not happening next year, why go this season with an at-best .500 QB to groom him for the future, when the future might not happen. Vick without question gives them the best opportunity to win THIS season. Throw into the mix that the rest of the division, especially the preseason favorite Cowboys, are not looking great and 9-10 wins could easily take this division. I think the FO looked at the situation and told Reid that Vick will start, if he continues to look good, we'll sign him to an extension, jettison Kolb (and his salary) for the best offer we can get, and let Kafka learn a few years under Vick, who by the way has 8 more years of starting in the NFL than Kolb while being only 3 years older. Not saying I love the idea, but if you know how this team operates, its definitely not outside the realm of possibility.
