Speak American ya damn frenchie.Paper mache
MarshmallowsIs he made of sand?
He did. A couple weeks ago. :stud:20 points in my PPR league. Wish this guy could last a full game.
Awesome.I put him in the lineup over BJGE at 1245 pm yesterday...I'll take his 2+ quarters
If he gets 15 touches and emerges unscathed I'll be shocked, and ####### ecstatic.
It was pretty apparent he wasn't at full strength. The guy fell like 3 times without being touched including his last play. His ability to cut then accelerate at near full speed is unique and ridiculous, but he cuts so hard that until he says he feels no pain I'm not sure he'll finish a game. It sucks because Stafford is checking down a lot and the screens passes are so wide open in the Lions Offense.Lions coach Jim Schwartz was noncommittal when asked about Kevin Smith's (ankle) Week 14 status at his Monday press conference.
Schwartz did say the Lions expected something to "come up" with Smith's ankle against the Saints, and that he doesn't believe "he's in a worse spot" than he was last week. Even before Smith crumpled to the ground untouched Sunday, he was having great difficulty cutting, and appeared nowhere near 100 percent. His status will be updated Wednesday, if not sooner.

This is why people wanted him to get the extra week instead of rushing back. If they expected it to happen, then why play him? I get that it's an important game, but the next 4 are important also, and if you don't think he'll make it through the game without re-aggravating it, then why do it?
Probably doesn't matter anyway. This guy just can't stay healthy. Even if it clears up, something else will probably show up. He's just one of those guys.
If he can start he'll be in my flex, but I'm not planning on it at the moment. What a disappointment. A healthy Smith could have really been a difference maker for the fantasy playoffs and for the Lions.
Personally... his big 2 quarters did more for me than my other backs. May have just landed me into the playoffs if MJD can produce well tonight.Lions coach Jim Schwartz was noncommittal when asked about Kevin Smith's (ankle) Week 14 status at his Monday press conference.

Thanks. It was pretty awesome. Many sites were touting Green Ellis as a must start, and CBS even made him Start of the Week. In the end, he played 17 of 64 snaps, none in the second half.Awesome.I put him in the lineup over BJGE at 1245 pm yesterday...I'll take his 2+ quarters

I need him to play.Really hoping the Lions sit him this week with the Vikes coming to Detroit in what should be a pretty easy win. I'd love to have him healthy after the playoff bye for the final two weeks of the season. Plus OAK and SD sound like some pretty delicious match ups. He could easily be a Top 5-10 RB in the fantasy playoffs if he sits this week and can stay healthy in those two games.

As long as Smith isn't too hobbled, it wouldn't surprise me. But they could probably go with Morris with a less formidable opponent in Minnesota. But will they do the same this week?http://www.kffl.com/gnews.php?id=758159-lions-kevin-smith-played-hurt-in-week-13Schwartz is such a sweetheart. The Detroit Lions used RB Kevin Smith (ankle) in Week 13 despite expecting him to aggravate his ankle injury during the game, according to head coach Jim Schwartz. Kevin Smith was sitting on the couch a couple weeks ago watching games on TV. I would bet my life on it that it was his decision to risk re-injury. He's playing for a contract next year. The reason he wasn't on a roster until a couple weeks ago was because of his injured past, so he likely was trying to play through them to show he's still worth a roster spot.http://www.kffl.com/gnews.php?id=758159-lions-kevin-smith-played-hurt-in-week-13Schwartz is such a sweetheart. The Detroit Lions used RB Kevin Smith (ankle) in Week 13 despite expecting him to aggravate his ankle injury during the game, according to head coach Jim Schwartz. The winner in that bunch is gerhart if AP doesnt return.I will probably have to play him. Outside of mccoy, I have smith, gerhart, starks, saine, hunter...so I am not a good reference
I have a feeling he will be fine and play. The "after" of the injury this weekend looked much different than the previous Sunday. I think if the game was closer, maybe he comes back in. I wouldn't be surprised to see him practice the rest of the week. I need him in 2 of my 3 playoffs, so here'sDid not practice wed
Detroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley (foot), safety Louis Delmas (knee), cornerback CB Chris Houston (knee), defensive end Lawrence Jackson (thigh), running back Kevin Smith (ankle) and defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch (not injury related) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
Fairley re-injured his foot against the New Orleans Saints. Lions coach Jim Schwartz said x-rays on Fairley's foot did not reveal any further damage, but his playing time against New Orleans was limited after the injury.
Smith re-injured his ankle against the Saints earlier this week, but was held out of Wednesday's practice as a precautionary measure. If Smith can practice on Thursday, he will have a chance to play against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
Meanwhile, linebacker Justin Durant (hamstring), cornerback Brandon McDonald (thigh), guard Rob Sims (shoulder ) and defensive end Willie Young (ankle) were limited.
I was at the game. They had him on the table, they moved his ankle around, he got up and walked around, he didn't look too bad, I thought he might come back in but he had his helmet and gloves off to the side.I have a feeling he will be fine and play. I don't think the Saints lose too many two touchdown leads at home. I'm guessing they thought the right move would be to keep him out an play it safe. They'd like to use his precious touches in a game they can win.I was at the game. The lions have been a mess latley and they'll be without there 2 best defensive players. Minn put up 29 points on a good Den def. Doubt the lions are taking this game as a sure thing. Smith on a gimpy leg is better then Morris. He can keep Aggravating the injury but its not something that cause serious damage. We'll know more after today prac. I wouldn't be shocked if they kept him out today and prac him tommorow, different schedule then last week because he had 10 days. He's in a much diff situation then AP, AP is set for life contract wise, Minn is out of the playoffs has no reason to rush back. Smith is playing for his life in football and Det is in a race.I don't feel as good about him this week as I did last. I think the Lions can win this game without him. And I think they believe that as well. Therefore possibly resting him for a stretch run.
Assuming 4 quarters for each, I would agree. The problem is Smith has not played an entire game since suffering this injury. The lions have been a mess latley and they'll be without there 2 best defensive players. You don't need to get hit to aggravate an ankle injury. Its cutting that affects the ankle. Smith runs so hard and he's applying a ton of pressure to that ankle. Its a miracle that he even played last week. High ankles are usually a 4 wk injury. With that said I think he does a light workout in practice tomorrow and plays. That fact that he was trying to come back into the game last week tells a lot. He'll be no worse but no better then he was last week, Just depends if he's worth the risk of playing if he could be taken out at any point.Defenses just seem to be leaving the middle wide open while they devote extra attention to Calvin. It would be awesome if Smith somehow heals up and plays a full game, there is some great potential there. Disturbing how he just keels over on plays where he was not really getting hit.
He's going to sit. Morris is good enough to beat the Vikings. The lions have been a mess latley and they'll be without there 2 best defensive players. Minn put up 29 points on a good Den def.
