Oh I absolutely agree what they did was wrong. But if that was my daughter and I was able to get plastic surgery and medical expenses paid for her that I couldn't get normally and the only consequences MAY be jail, I think most people would sign up for that, no?

Yes they accomplished that goal. I would not do "anything" for my child. I'm not committing murder or robbing banks for my child. And I'm not taking advantage of the anti corporation mentality that currently exists in this country to extort money from them. I have morals and ethics.

I will agree that I can't say for certain how I would act if it was my child. However, I have strong ideals and I also firmly believe that our morals/character are not truly tested until we have to make that type of decision, although maybe not to that extent. It is my belief that I would not compromise my ideals to such an extent in this situation. These stories are the exception. Lots of people have horrific stories and don't resort to these types of tactics. I'd like to think I'm one of those people.

Where did I comment on your suggestion to MC? What the parents did wasn't right, but if you sacrifice your own honor in order to help your child that experienced a tragedy and is likely to never live a normal life, that's a decision I can understand. It's not right, but you are sacrificing part of yourself to help a child.

I know it's not a cool stance nowadays, but I think KFC should be commended here. Someone tries to paint them as the bad guy, and even after finding out that it was a lie, they still say they are behind getting the kid help.

They have revenue of 23 billion.They donated 30k which they get to write off.

Lets not make them out to be some kind of saints.

Why not? They gave money to a family who tried to scam them. Why should they give anything? Who cares how much they give or how much it impacts their bottom line? This is one of the problems with the US lately. Everyone is ungrateful. People see corporations or billionaires that give money and their first thought is "Why didn't they give more?"

I dont eat KFC. Lots of people complain about the poor on assistance buy junk food, and I agree they shouldnt be able to buy soda, chips and candy. I spend my food stamps on nutritious food. Staples, fruits and vegetables and eggs as a cheap source of animal protein because I cut dairy out of my diet because it constipates me.My only only indulgences are almond/coconut milk and kefir because I cut dairy out of my diet

I recommend you stop eating staples. Terrible for your digestion.

They got money to help their innocent daughter. It wasn't the "right" thing to do, but sometimes you have to throw "right" out the window.

This wasn't an issue of the girl dying. This wasn't an issue of her being confined to a wheelchair. Sorry, "right" should have stayed in play here.

Perhaps trying to get money to pay for more plastic surgery so she could live closer to a normal life? It's away to say that she wasn't going to die, so who cares. Having severe facial scars like she has and at such a young age is going to deeply impact her quality of life at every stage.

I don't think their issue was helping their granddaughter. The type people they seem to be that might be an ancillary benefit. My supposition is they were more about helping themselves and trying to get some kind of lawsuit or settlement.

I dont have 2 years. Ive been in a halfway house a little over two years and at the limit of what a person can endure.Its a matter of life and death bevause im close to giving up.

Just say that you were asked to leave by KFC because of one reason or another. They will give you money and ilov80s will say that it is alright

I dont eat KFC. Lots of people complain about the poor on assistance buy junk food, and I agree they shouldnt be able to buy soda, chips and candy. I spend my food stamps on nutritious food. Staples, fruits and vegetables and eggs as a cheap source of animal protein because I cut dairy out of my diet because it constipates me.My only only indulgences are almond/coconut milk and kefir because I cut dairy out of my diet

I recommend you stop eating staples. Terrible for your digestion.

I mean like rice, beans and potatos etc.

Though some think the poor shouldnt even be allowed those and just buy flour to subsist on hardtack and water.

I don't even think they should get food. They should be used for fuel in my car.
