I am not sure how many here are familiar with the KFFSC. If you listen to the HSFFH podcast, then you have likely heard the commish, Ferrell Elliot, talk about it a little. I decided to enter two main event teams this year for the draft in Cincinnati, August 21st, and there are a couple of rule twists that are new to me.
I have played in FFPC and FFWC formats. I have played local leagues and auctions. I have played in various scoring systems on MFL and RTsports.
I did search (ha) and couldn't find anything on KFFSC or the particular unique rules I would like to hear people's opinion on. The two that I have never been in a league with before are 1) Players use their blind bid dollars to buy their draft spot in an auction format. 2) Third round reversal.
Obviously, these two tweaks are related, so it would be interesting to me how people handle those rules individually and collectively (also of note is the 3WR start requirement and a single flex)
I have drafted a few teams in various formats so far this year, and I can definitively say I do not like drafting at the end of the draft this year. 9-12 leaves with 2nd tier WR or 2nd tier RB at best. I just don't like the options that are generally there considering waiting 22 picks until the third selection. However, with the 3rd round reversal, my initial thought is the end of the draft becomes more valuable because of getting an early third round pick. However, as I look at ADP in a PPR, I think that the differences between the 24-27 and the 35-38 are not greater than the differences between 1-4 + 20-24 and 9-12 + 13-16.
Would you rather have a chance at Julio Jones, Brandon Marshall, and Randall Cobb in a 0RB strategy, or Jordy Nelson, Allen Robinson, and Demaryius Thomas?
Obviously, the draft itself will help dictate your draft strategy (0RB, 0WR, balanced draft, etc), but where would you pick if you had the choice in this format? How much of your FAB dollars would you spend to lock it up? Do you just punt the draft position, take what is left, and use the extra BB dollars to outbid for free agents? Being a rookie to this format, I have no idea how much people are going to be willing to spend on draft spot.
For me, I don't ever seem to use all of my BB dollars in other formats, so I am inclined to bid for my spot, but I am still torn on what the best spot is this year, given the 3RR.
Whaddya got?
