Kid + Parent + Teacher = FAIL (1 Viewer)

So today my 7th grader and 2 other boys were asked to stop talking in their Algebra class by their teacher.  The teacher is also a coach on the high school football team.  The teacher said, "boys stop being bench warmers!"  My son didn't even tell me the story I found out from my wife who was  at the other boys mother's for being so distraught.

Mom1:  Can you believe what Mr. Smith said today to the boys.  HOW DARE HIM!

WIFE:  I think that is how coaches talk to boys who play sports.

Mom2:  I am calling the principal

WIFE: I think your son will be more upset and embarrassed if you call the school.

Mom1:  Jackson is very upset, and he called me between classes to tell me Mr. Smith called him a "Bench Warmer!"

WIFE:  I think you need to take a step back and talk to your son when he gets home.

Mom2: I have a meeting setup for this afternoon with the prinicipal and Mr. Smith, I will be getting to the bottom of this Evan is very upset as well.

WIFE:  Uh, are you sure Evan is not just being dramatic?

Mom1:  I can't believe you are not upset that your son was called a "bench warmer!"

So we asked our son about the incident when we got home and he told us he didn't think much of it.  That Mr. Smith was just teasing them like he teases everyone.  My son also said that Mr. Smith came and got Jackson out of a later class and spoke with him in the hallway.  I asked my son did Jackson say what Mr. Smith said to him.  "Yeah Dad Mr. Smith apologized for making Jackson feel bad."

You left out the best part when neither Jackson or Evan knew what to do when they realized that they were the only 2 kids in class wearing a safety pin.

 I just asked my other son if they have a "safe place" to go if you are feeling stressed at school.   "Yeah, they told us we can go stand in the hallway."   I had no clue they actually had this in place.

Mom1 and Mom2 need to tell their mutant offspring bench warmers to S T F U and pay attention, because I am sick of these little ####tards getting to my class, and they can't manipulate a simple ####### equation.

I'm hoping that most of these stories are anecdotal and not truly representative of the whole...however, it's really hard not to take notice of all these similar stories and think when did "sticks and stones can break my bones, but words will never hurt me" turn into "sticks and stones are located outside, which is a dangerous place that I'm not allowed in, and words that challenge me are deemed offensive and hurt my brittle sense of self"?

Jackson is a special snowflake and shall be treated as such.

You couldn't pay me enough to be a teacher.
It's fine as long as you don't teach in an upper middle class school. I teach in more working class district and while the parents are often very neglectful of their kids, they are at least respectful of school staff.

Mr. Smith: You know, your son looks like a ### to me.
Mom1: I beg your pardon?
Mr. Smith: You better get re-married again, or he's gonna have someone's #### in his mouth before you can say Jack Robinson.

Wife got a text late last night asking if it was ok if our son spoke with principal regarding the "bench warmers" comment.   Apparently, the principal is conducting some sort of investigation into this incident after the mom's made a big fuss.

My thoughts and prayers go out to these poor traumatized kids.  I hope they never become adults and never have to deal with a jackhole boss.

Need pics of all the women involved or I call BS.  Yes that means Jackson as well.

That's ridiculous.  I hope your son tells him so.  Not that anyone will hear him over the sound of helicopters.

He should tell the principal sorry he's a starter and doesn't need to speak to him about bench warmers

What kind of school administrator asks for permission to speak to a student about something?  If principal Skinner needs to talk to the student then talk to the student.

You should have said no, its not OK for my son to speak to the principal because he isn't a pu@@y like your precious little spoiled f@@@@s

Those kids should have fun being real bench warmers when Coach Smith doesnt play them because they are p******

"kids these days are so sensitive! they just can't take constructive criticism!

what? not now my sweet baby buttercakes, mommy can't massage your feet... i'm already massaging your head while i make bacon pancakes and a custom table for your brother... yes, dear. yes, i know. i'm an incompetent moron but i love you.

of course you can have a beer, honey. just don't take my keys and drive to the girl scout meeting... or do... i just want what's best for you sugarpop.

yes, of course i'll call Mrs. Kerbabble for you and get that D changed to an A+. just because you didn't study or answer any of the questions on the test doesn't mean you don't deserve the absolute best.. she's just mean because she's fat, old and not as pretty as you..........

so anyways, like i was saying,  i don't know where kids get the idea that the world should just cater to them and shelter them! they don't have a clue how hard we had it as kids!    yes, honey, i'll be right there to butter your bread and cut it in to 13 equal sized pieces!"

Not to derail but, bacon pancakes?  I didn't know this was a thing.  I know what I'm making for dinner tonight.

First words out of my mouth to Moms 1 & 2 would have been...

"What. No cheerleading uniforms?"
I can guarantee we would no longer be on friendly terms with these moms.  There's 0% chance I don't offend them to the point where their husbands are forced to come over and argue with me.  Probably ends up with us having a beer and me listening to him complain about how ####ty his life is.

What a wuss. Hope they fire his ###.

Personal accountability to parents for school staff was the end of public education. Authority is far more vital to instruction than skill or resources.

what do you expect, the kids name is Jackson.  I am sure the delicate flower is going to be a wonder human after graduating with his liberal art degree accumulating $100M in debt.  Tell you wife she should not be friends with that idiot mom.

Personally, Id like to have the chance to accumulate $100M in debt.

Please call the principal right away and say the other mom is being an idiot.  God forbid she or her son take responsibility for his behavior.

Good grief. I couldn't hack it in education, I'd get fired so fast it would be ridiculous.

Working for a construction company is a breath of fresh air.  I'd rather be yelled at and called an MFer than have to deal with this kind of crap.  I hate what suburban women are doing to our kids, especially the boys.
