GREAT ADDITION TO ANY SPORTS SHOW...i wish he was doing monday nights..no offense to anybody in the MNF booth...i will still enjoy the show.

Olbermann to join NBC pregame show

NEW YORK (April 16, 2007) -- Keith Olbermann will return to sports for the first time in six years to join Cris Collinsworth as co-host of the pregame show for NBC's Sunday night NFL telecasts.

Olbermann, who currently hosts a prime-time newscast and opinion show called Countdown with Keith Olbermann on MSNBC, will join host Bob Costas and analysts Jerome Bettis, Tiki Barber and Peter King on NBC's Football Night in America.

An anchor for ESPN's SportsCenter from 1992-97, Olbermann last appeared on network television in 2001 as host of postseason baseball coverage for FOX.

His job on the NBC show will be to narrate highlights and discuss NFL news and issues.

Since then, I could care less about his politics. If he can keep that out of the commentary and all, I don't see why it wouldn't be a nice addition...

I remember trying to keep up with his witty banter when him and Dan Patrick did Sportscenter. Sometimes Dan would just have to crack up between segments. KO is gonna be fun if he hasn't let politics change his delivery.

KO is consistently on Dan Patricks AM Radio Show, and hasn't lost a step, the man is funny, intelligent, and most of all...has awesome presence. If KO, Costas, Collinsworth, and whomever else is in the booth can find eachothers groove...they will be a great watch. I think its gonna be uncomfortable. Its gonna need a new member to bring it together, much like how Joe T got the boot from MNF because he ruined the flow. KO is gonna be the star of the show...I would want him to RUN my sports show. Costas is the media-vet who knows all the tricks. Collinsworth has player credibility and is intelligent...but he sucks on camera. But for some good reason everybody keeps hiring this guy. i have mad KO-love

I'd rather watch early round PBA matches than Michael Irvin. He has no broadcasting talent and is brainless. I don't care much about a broadcaster's attitude as long as he is able to impart information and speak coherently. That is something that K.O. can do well.

Put me in the camp of this could be good if Olberman leaves his politics at home. While I certainly don't think he is god's gift to sports like some people, he's decent, better than most former players, and is potentially funny, his first monologue that has the slightest bit of political slant, and I'll be shutting it off.

Ill double this sentiment. Olberman is constantly having to re-explain his opinion, because, "in other words", he lacks the ability to relate to the AVERAGE sports fan. If I had an English degree from Columbia my opinion may differ, but as this is clearly not the case, Ill struggle to tolerate what I expect to be his over-journalizing of the beautiful game of football. And to think, we had to suffer thru an entire season of Bryant Gumbell. The glass half-full side of my brain admits this represents MAJOR improvement.

If he stays out of bringing politics into the booth I think it should be bearable but listening to Dan on the radio he does not seem capable of not talking politics.

When I want politics, I will turn the channel to that.... when I am watching football- I do NOT want to hear it whether that political talk is something I agree with or not.

I loved him on ESPN 2 in the beginning......it was supposed to be the hip edgy brother to ESPN. KO was so Hip and Edgy he lost tie and dawned a leather jacket..........he was then and is now the personification of KOOL!
