Last chance to get Pierre Thomas "cheap" (1 Viewer)

Yeah, totally average back right there. No vision, cutting ability, burst, turning things north/south in a hurry or tackle breaking ability evident. Can't see why anybody would want to see him get more carries after watching that. Unless maybe they checked the production from the 6 game stint he was the "bellcow" back in '08. Then they might want to reconsider.16 for 88, 1 TD-4 for 56

15 for 87, 2 TD-3 for 34

11 for 34, 0 TD-1 for 20, 1 TD

16 for 102, 1 TD-1 for 7, 1 TD

22 for 87, 1 TD-7 for 59, 1 TD

13 for 77, 1TD-3 for 26
Is this sarcasm?

Completely. Sorry if that wasn't clear. Been defending PT from critics (and have seen his potential) ever since he won me $100 in a Week 17 throwaway league in 2007. Drafted him in two dynasty leagues in 2008 and watched the backlash from everyone who jumped on board after the hype train had departed the station as Peyton channeled his inner Shanahan in 2009.

once got him and a 3rd for ernie sims

2008

* NO MA'AM gave up Sims, Ernie DET LB

* Thomas, Pierre NOS RB; Year 2009 Round 3 Draft Pick from

I had PT on most of my teams and I became very open to trading him to be honest, I already begun moving him in my leagues. It just seems he won't be given a hugh role on that team... its like they don't trust him and every year you'll have to watch the draft so closely to make sure hes not replaced.

League 1 I trade him away at the end of last off-season for a 1st... it turned out not to be such a good trade since that 1st is now 1.11 or 1.12; but it was a salary cap league and PT was getting paid high RB1 money (4th highest paid RB because he was a top FA in 2009). No way I was going to keep him for that.

League 2 I made this trade in the following off-season

* Lord Humungus and the Dogs of War gave up Bush, Reggie NOS RB;Thomas, Pierre NOS RB;Austin, Miles DAL WR

* gave up Peterson, Adrian MIN RB;Orakpo, Brian WAS LB

I haven't watched that much of Pierre, so I don't have much of an opinion on him, but that highlight clip was far from impressive. Everyone looks impressive on runs where they go clean through a huge hole for the first 15 yards and get to make their first move on a guy who is flat-footed while they have a full head of steam, and most players look MUCH more impressive than that when presented with that scenario. I actually laughed at some of the first few "cuts" (aka stumbles) in that video, but it got better.Like I said, I haven't seen near enough of Pierre to form a strong opinion on him one way or the other, but that video did absolutely nothing to show me that he's some uber talented player.

I think from a dynasty perspective, I might wait and see if he signs an extension this summer. I don't own PT, so not sure what his current value is, but if he is a FA next year, there's always a chance he gets signed to a team that plans on using him more. I hear what you're saying about him in NO, and thinking the way you are, you might get the same value if he signs an extension, but may be worth more to you if he goes elsewhere next year.

Highlight reels have their purpose. For example, I've watched Ryan Matthews highlight reels and have come away extremely unimpressed. Pierre on the other hand shows some great agility and movement in his clips.

I still don't understand why a team like SD didn't make him a contract offer and give up the 2nd for him. I'm sure SD will end up paying Matthews more than it would of take NO to give up Thomas and then they wouldn't of had to make that trade to move into the 12 spot.the Poison Pill would be very easy to make against NO, just say if Thomas runs for 800 yds then he would match the highest 2009 RB salary on the team he signs on... which means he would make Reggie Bush money.

Just moved him in my last league...

1 PPR for TEs - .5 PPR for RBs

Thomas / Bush for Witten... I have Gates already but the catch is I can play a 2nd TE in either my RB2 spot or Flex play which is usually WR4.

TEs get 3 pt bonus on 5th Catch

Won't work- Sproles was tagged and will be making 6 mill this year.

Closer to $7.2 million IIRC
they have to get him out of that deal
Who, Sproles? He isn't on a deal, he has been tagged the past 2 seasons while the Chargers have tried to figure out what is going on with LT/what they will do without LT.

Doesn't sound like you watched that footage either...
