Late round/FA Qbs who could breakout (1 Viewer)

Now that we know Peyton is gonna be gone for at least awhile I was trying to figure out whos gonna breakout this year at qb and finish in the top 15 guys. Last year we had Vick,Orton, and J.Freeman who were late round picks or free agents come out and put up great seasons. Now I know Stafford,Bradford, and Kolb are popular picks for this role this season but I would not put them into the late round/FA category since they all were gone earlier in my leagues esp Stafford who I never seen past round 8(from motown area)

My 2 best guesses at this point are C.Mccoy and K.Collins. Collins maybe could put up a decent season having the colts weapons right? Mccoy is a young guy who looks good in the preseason and maybe could put up a Freeman type season. Obv dont expect a Vick to come out but hey maybe if he gets hurt and V.Young takes over.

Anyways fire off who you got.

My favorite flier is Matt Flynn. Qb1 if Rodgers goes down this year. And likely to be starting elsewhere next as an upcoming FA.

I personally like him more than I did Kevin Kolb.

To pick-up now, or to wait on. If your holding a slot to roster someone like Young I would pick Manning over him right now, I also would pick Flynn if the pick is really a lottery ticket pick. Collins right now, otherwise I see Grossman having value, and Beck later in the season.

People are shying away from Kyle Orton (his ADP has dropped down to McNabb/Fitzpatrick/McCoy levels) but he could easily replicate his numbers from last year.

I'd be hesitant to draft any QB on a team in the Andrew Luck race. They have no interest in trying to win, so they won't be airing it out (and they won't think twice about benching a mediocre QB for a backup).

If Collins picks up Moore's system and thrives in it that is really going to be funny.

I would bet no, but I'd bet given that offense he is more than worth the flyer of the last bench spot on most FF teams.

Anyone think A.Smith C.Henne or Hasselback have anything left in the tank or these guys just lost causes?

Interesting to hear a couple guys think Grossman might do a little something seems like hes been around forever.

840 yds and 7 tds in 3 starts last year. He's a gunslinger for better or worse, and the worse is why he took a 2+ year hiatus from starting. Don't think that gunslinging has changed so much from when he took Chicago to the SB (or rather Urlacher and co. took him). 3rd year in Shannahan's system (was backup in Houston for a year). Smith and Hass have no chance IMO. Henne has looked good in preseason.

Fitzpatrick is a dark horse candidate for 25-30 TDs.

He only started 12 games last year & put up some decent numbers. He should be better with an entire off-season to perfect the offense, and the rest of the team should be much improved. The Bills under Gailey run 4WR as much as Green Bay does.

I like Grossman's potential this week due to the banged-up Giants defense. Also, Rex threw for 300 yards in 2 out of 3 starts last year.I think Henne can improve on last year's numbers, but I am not expecting much more than 230/1/1 -- which is slightly more than I expect from Alex Smith.Hasselbeck might be able to give you something with the right matchup, but he's far too unreliable to start on a weekly basis.

Believe Chad Henne is this years sleeper QB one year late. Henne is surrounded by fantastic weapons including Reggie Bush who will gobble up yards on dumps. His new OC is emphasizing the pass and he is now calling his own plays at the line. The icing on the cake is that the Dolphins have a top rated passing schedule this year as well.

I picked up Flynn in two of my three dynasty leagues. I hope it pays off next year.

As a potential top ten at lower end QB2 price? Kolb
I really don't see this at all. Not this year. If you've seen him play, he hasn't looked good this preseason. (Not that I expected him to look good. I really don't expect much at all Year 1 here)Time to buy Kolb IMO (if you're going to buy into him) is next offseason. The lack of offseason prep is going to really hurt him. JMO People will be calling him a bust next offseason. For 2011, I'd rather have someone even like Grossman (familar with system) in Washington as my QB2. Kolb's a ways down my rankings this year.

Jason Campbell- the Saunders and Jackson system should put Campbell in a position to put up FF points
