LaVar Arrington seriously injured in motorcycle accident (1 Viewer)

I have no sympathy. He chose to ride the bike. They are dangerous.

Why would anyone ever ride a motorcycle during a sports career? Why?

Per ESPN:

LaVar Arrington's agent, Carl Poston, confirmed that Arrington was in a motorcycle accident Monday in the Washington area.

Poston says his understanding is that Arrington suffered a fracture in his arm, three fractures in his leg and cuts and bruises. The injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Arrington, a former Pro Bowl linebacker for the Redskins, is not currently under contract to any team and is still rehabilitating an Achilles tendon tear that cut short his 2006 season with the New York Giants.

Agreed that bad drivers can get the best motorcycle riders at times. You always need to be on the lookout for them, stay aware of your surroundings and don't let your balls do the riding for you. I've been cut off plenty of times and no accidents. There are definitely a lot of added dangers when on a motorcycle, but experienced riders know this and don't put themselves in higher risk situations than they need to be in. Big Ben and Winslow made some bad mistakes, maybe LaVar did too.

Some time it will be me that takes a fall, the statistics say so, but I'll never get rid of my hog.

Motorcycles are the safest form of transportation........until impact.......I bet LaVar is losing sleep over your no sympathy stance!

The local DC TV stations were showing the crash site this morning. Lavar hit the guard rail so hard that he bent a show section of the rail about 3 feet. He's lucky that a broken arm and leg are all the injuries that he got.

He also got a citation from the cops for driving a bike without a motocycle endoresement on his drivers license. When it rains, it pours.

Career over? Or was it already?
Pretty much over already. He was looking at maybe an invitation to someone's camp for veteran minimum assuming he could pass a physical, but my impression was that his heart wasn't really in it anymore. He had been talking about retirement already.

Great, now he's got to meet with Goodell too. :bag:
