League Rules regarding Hybrids (1 Viewer)

I'm currently in a dynasty money football league that uses MFL and we're still in the middle of the draft. No rules were mentioned before the draft regarding hybrid players. My question is once the season starts, should the commish change the position back to what they were drafted in for one year, or let MFL decide the position(if it's changed)??

Some examples are:

Bryan Thomas

Kiwanuka and many others

imo you need a written rule...i dont care how its written but you need one that is part of the rules otherwise your league will venture down a path that most assuredly will result in some headaches and heartaches.

oh and my question is: Have you brought this question up to your commish and/or league mates yet? If not then I ask WHY?

The commish has told me that he thinks the player should stay at the position he was drafted in. On the other hand, he's told me if he is playing LB it doesn't make sense to roster him as DL.

The person that drafted both B Thomas and Kiwanuka is arguing that "it is pretty much a given that in dynasty leagues (or any leagues for that matter) you can't change/make rules middraft"

You should never changes rules in the middle of the draft. They should have been clearly defined prior to the start of the draft, actually at the inception of the league. I have to say that if I were thinking about drafting any of these guys I'd be sure to have a ruling prior to selecting them, there's too much risk that they'll be redesignated as LB's to just gamble blindly, this has been an issue for sometime now, the owner that drafted Thomas & Kiwanuka knew that this could happen. That said, since your league rules did not clearly define that players could be redesignated i think he should be allowed to use them as DL's.

Not a likely scenario for this year, but let's say:A scrub WR had some QB experience last year and has been announced that he could be the front runner for the QB job and is still listed as a WR at the time of the draft. The owner drafts this WR in the 20-25th rd. The WR should still be allowed to accumulate passing stats for WR slot? This is the same exact scenario like Bryan Thomas but on the offensive side.
