Trying to Decide how to set up league. We lost 2 teams. Dropping from 10 teams in 2006 to 8 teams in 2007.
Auction keeper league with $200 salary cap (no transaction costs) - Each team can keep up to 2 players for $15 more than 2006 draft price .
Roster Requirements 2007
League with 8 teams (160 roster spots)
1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 RB/WR/TE, 1 TM
Totals 20: 10 Starters, 10 Bench
Total of 160 roster spots in league
Roster Requirements 2006
League with 10 teams
1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 RB/WR/TE, 1 TM
18 Total : 9 Starters, 9 Bench
Total of 180 roster spots in league

PROPOSAL:
Was just thinking about this...team salary should be increased, here is the math:
last year, 10 teams, 200 salary cap, 2000 total salary chasing 180 players, that breaks down to 11 per player
this year, 8 teams, 160 total players, in order to have 11 per player, total salary would need to be 1760, which is 220 per team
it make sense, rosters increase 10%, salary should increase 10% so as not to devalue protectables from last year...meaning, if you have a guy you'd protect for $50 that would leave you $150 for 17 roster spots (last year's thinking)...but w/ loss of 2 teams that $150 has to cover 19 more players, which isn't quite right...
so to keep things equal to last year, i think a $220 salary cap is warranted

I definitely agree with the logic, but one other very important factor helps off set the lack of Cash. You have to take into account that many people are getting great deals on their keepers, there by freeing up cash they should have spent on those players. For example, you are getting Frank Gore for $21 when his market value is well over double that. It looks like every team has 1-2 keepers that save them at least the $20 difference you are talking about, if not more. In addition, I think it is best to keep things as straight forward as possible, to avoid causing any controversy.
