Leagues with PPC? (1 Viewer)

We're debating adding .1 pts per carry to our PPR league this year.

Last year we had a full PPR, but we're lowering that to 1/2 pt. Many owners are looking for a more realistic scoring system, like this:

RB1 finishes the season with 200/800/8 tds, 30/200/2 tds.

Old scoring = 196 points

New scoring = 195 points

WR1 finishes with 80/1000/10 tds.

Old scoring = 240 points

New scoring = 200 points

If we look at concrete examples from last year:

Larry Fitzgerald - 101/1412/10

Old scoring = 300 points

New scoring = 250 points

Jamal Lewis - 299/1303/9, 30/248/2

Old scoring = 250 points

New scoring = 266 points

Lewis finished with 140 more yards and 1 more TD, so I think he deserves to have the 16 point premium over Fitz, not a 50 point deficit.

On the surface, it seems much more balanced in terms of production. Am I overlooking anything substantial? Most owners are on board for this change, but I want input and opinions from anyone who has played or plays under a similar system.

Thanks!

looking at the RB/WR numbers, they're not terribly far off from each other. the #10 RB is about the same as the #10 WR. same for #15. the difference is a little bit more at #20, but overall it's not a bad system.

edit to add: it's still about even up to #40 WR and #40 RB overall

I like to look at per game points as well:

If I WR nabs 7 balls for 70 yards and no scores, and a RB rushes 20 times for 70 yards, no scores, should the WR really scoring 14 vs 7 for the RB?

The new systems scores it 10.5 to 9...much closer and balanced.

I'm starting to see how my reasoning is moving to total yardage based scoring with no PPR and no PPC, but that won't fly with the other owners, .5 PPR is a must.

Our league is similar. Points are close in ppc. I think we're trying for the same thing, to equalize the playing field. Top wr's are worth just as much as top rb's.... since our league is a 2qb league as well, qb's are just as important as any other position. So essentially round 1 isn't all rb's. We all like it because like I said, everyone is pretty much on the same level for the most part. Good luck!
