We're debating adding .1 pts per carry to our PPR league this year.
Last year we had a full PPR, but we're lowering that to 1/2 pt. Many owners are looking for a more realistic scoring system, like this:
RB1 finishes the season with 200/800/8 tds, 30/200/2 tds.
Old scoring = 196 points
New scoring = 195 points
WR1 finishes with 80/1000/10 tds.
Old scoring = 240 points
New scoring = 200 points
If we look at concrete examples from last year:
Larry Fitzgerald - 101/1412/10
Old scoring = 300 points
New scoring = 250 points
Jamal Lewis - 299/1303/9, 30/248/2
Old scoring = 250 points
New scoring = 266 points
Lewis finished with 140 more yards and 1 more TD, so I think he deserves to have the 16 point premium over Fitz, not a 50 point deficit.
On the surface, it seems much more balanced in terms of production. Am I overlooking anything substantial? Most owners are on board for this change, but I want input and opinions from anyone who has played or plays under a similar system.
Thanks!
