Lee Evans to AZ? (1 Viewer)

Heard on the radio this afternoon (Bickley and MJ) that there is some serious consideration of going after Lee Evans in AZ. I'm not sure what stage it's at right now, but it sounds like something could happen.

Wiz said today that Andre Roberts was the 2, with Doucet close behind. If Evans signs, you have to think that moves those guys back one spot.

what they already have is better
No. Evans is still a stud. Unless you watched the Bills games you didn't realize the reason Stevie Johnson got so much attention was because defenses were double teaming Evans every game. NFL teams knew who the WR to focus on was. Just because Stevie put up better fantasy stats doesn't mean he was the best WR on the Bills squad. If Evans goes to the Cards and has a legit WR across from him it will allow him to do the things he is really good at. I don't think he is meant to be the focus of a D and a true #1 like the Bills asked him to be. But I think he could become one of the best #2 WR's in the league if he goes to Arizona (as long as Kolb can be good there).

depends on the price, but I have no idea why they would want to stunt development of Doucet, Roberts, Williams, and Sampson when there has been many positive reports on each

How can you call Evans a "stud" but then say he's not meant to be a #1 WR? Isn't that the definition of a stud, a good #1?

This could make him fantasy relevant again, he pretty much has no value right now in Buffalo.

Wouldn't be too bad of an offense there in Zona now. Fitz, Evans, Heap from Kolb...

Evans can be a stud (see multiple 30+ point games) but can just as easily bust. It would be interesting to see how much is buffalo and how much is evans. He was fairly decent last year though.

Evans a stud? Since when? Didn't know a player could be a stud without putting up the stats.
Are you one of those guys that think players suck if they don't put up good "stats"? You know we sometimes talk real football here too, not just fantasy. ;) (jk)

No, not at all. When Wes Welker was regularly putting up 100 catch seasons he was considered a stud in fantasy football. But would you ever considered him a true #1 WR?

I admit, i haven't watched any Bills games last year, but is this really true.Evans was double teamed EVERY GAME?ETA: Has he been getting double teamed the last 4 years?

The point is that stud WRs change the way defenses play and still put up great numbers. You think Fitz got 90 and 1000 while being single covered with great QB play? Or that Nate Burleson took coverage AWAY from Calvin Johnson? A true stud puts up numbers no matter what. To me, Fitz's numbers last year was one of the best statistical finishes in history once all of the other factors are put into play. Not a great fantasy football season, but he had epically bad QB play, and no help from the running game or other WRs and forget about TEs. I think you nailed it earlier when you said that Evans is better suited to be a WR2.Being said, if this is true, just another example of ARI upping the ante in the NFC West.
