  and that's my thought on Draughn as well.  Stat compiler.
Provided drones current injury isn't too bad, I'm inclined to agree. Plus Hyde has never been  healthy or particularly adept pass catcher.

So if drone can stay on the field, there's significant value  potential there,  especially in PPR leagues

Mike Davis may have something to say about Draughn being a three down guy if Hyde gets hurt. Might have something to say about touches in that backfield, period. Davis has looked fantastic other than his two fumbles, which aren't usually characteristic of his play.

Former first rounders that went to a new team, stunk up the joint, but are young and still have a lot of skill:

CJ Spiller - If he can figure out that offense, he could be a serious weapon for Brees. Big if.

the reports I've seen throughout the preseason have not been favorable. Finally healthy, maybe he's just not getting it.  It's bizarre - I drafted him late last year in a PPR and he was a brick even when healthy. very frustrating player - seemed to have crazy ability and  *poof!* it never materialized on any sort of consistent basis.

Yea I just don't get it. He has all of the physical ability and has even been a top 10 RB. I've heard rumors that he just couldn't get the playbook and it was too complicated for him.

Jared Cook is another freak athlete that finally has a probowl QB. He has also had a good camp and preseason

Mike Wallace - he hasn't been very productive since he left Pittsburgh but he's played with two QBs that have struggled throwing deep, Tannehill and Bridgewater. Flacco loves to let it fly downfield and there isn't a lot of competition for targets here.
He might catch the occasional long ball but I doubt he does much in Baltimore.  Flacco and company will eventually lose trust when he drops key passes that should have gone for first downs.

Andre Johnson anyone?

Last year with the Colts was a disaster, but his last 3 years in Houston before that showed no real signs (at all) of wash up as he had:

1,598 yards

1,407 yards

936 yards in essentially 14 games because he got a concussion right after the 1st quarter of a game and missed that whole game and the next week.  Taking his YPG average, it would 1,070 yards over 16.

He got plenty of run and targets with the TEN starting offense this weekend and no reason to believe he can't go back to being a 1,000 yard receiver if Mariota takes the next step (which I think many think he will).  Despite 900-1,000 yards not being "fantasy stud" stats, they are super solid for a WR 4-5/bye week fill in who is currently not even being drafted in 98% of drafts (other than those in Houston most likely due to his legend status).

Just looked it up, Mariota threw 17 passes (16 officially) and Johnson was targeted on 5 of the 17.

He caught 3 of 4 and had a defensive pass interference called on the 5th.  Didn't see the game, but with DPI being called, could he have caught 4 of 5?

Good thread.

Folks something has to emerge out of that SF pass game. I think we're looking at an extra 100 targets this year over last.

Ellington hurt his ham but how could he be left for dead if he was never alive? Same goes for McDonald. These guys might be sleeper or breakout candidates.

I like Torrey Smith. He's a vet, he's done it in the past and he's hungry.

Also I'm not sure why people keep overlooking Patton, he had 30 catches last year.

I could see Gabbert dumping quite a lot in a season where they are behind often and run a lot of plays. Kelly's Philly teams were great for garbage points, just piling up dinks and dunks towards the ends of halfs. But you can only pick one of these (as if say investing heavily in SF is not a great idea) so I will go with Smith.

I agree with a lot of this, but Smith isn't a dink-and-dunk guy. I liked Ellington a lot before the injury. If it's serious, whoever fills in that role should have some value.
