Legarrette Blount originally agrees with SF, backs out (1 Viewer)

He still has to make the team. There's Stafon Johnson also although Blount is much more talented.

Blount's draft stock dropped because of character issues. He was a legit 2nd rder.

Good moves by the Titans, when 100% both Stafon and Blount are both better than Ringer. I'd still side with Stafon first but he has to improve over what he's done the last 3 months.

I wonder why Blount didn't try and go to STL and backup an aging back instead.
SJax is an aging back, but Gore isn't? Interesting....
Jackson's backups are Chris Ogbonnaya and Kenneth DarbyGore's backups are Glen Coffee and Anthony DixonWhat I was trying to say is Blount would immediately become the #2 back behind Jackson. If he were still in SF, he would probably be #4. That's why I didn't like his decision to go to TEN where he won't get a chance to start ever (besides an injury to CJ)

Bet the Niners were blindsided by that sucker punch.
If you had read the article you would not make this comment. It was clear that Blount had a verbal agreement with the 49'ers, but he talked it out with Coach Singletary and they parted on good terms. Blount has a better chance to stick with the Titans than the 49'ers and I believe this was the best option for him. It's kind of ironic because if he had gotten drafted he would not have had the choice at all.

Johnson will get injured. It's not a matter of if, just when. Also, he has more of an opportunity to succeed behind the TN line and with it's entrenched coaching staff, IMHO. He nicely fits the Lendale White role.I think big bruising backs are better served not playing in domes, also. I think his agent might have explained he'd recoup a chunk of change in taxes by going to TN over Cali.

Good point andI bet cost of living played a factor as well. Playing for the minimum or the practice squad pay is a whole lot easier in TN than in Cali.

Legarrette Blount...... bleh. Undrafted. Overrated here. Someone said 2nd round talent and Jeremiah Johnson was the better back at Oregon and he was also undrafted. Without the horrible attitude and violent outbursts by Blount I wouldn't have taken him in the draft at all if he was a perfect angel with a Tim Tebow attitude.

Great source :hey:

LeGarrette Blount: Blount leads Titans in rushing

Rookie RB LeGarrette Blount led the Titans with 42 yards on nine carries in Monday night's preseason win.

Blount ran hard and with decisiveness, but played behind Samkon Gado (who scored two touchdowns). Still in a fight for the Titans' third-string tailback job, Blount needs to make some headway on the depth chart. Javon Ringer is entrenched as the No. 2, so only Gado stands in the undrafted rookie's way. Aug. 23 - 11:29 pm et
