The Arizona Cardinals have announced they have placed QB Matt Leinart (collarbone) on Injured Reserve, ending his 2007 season.

You gotta wonder if this is a convenient way to keep Warner in the game...See, the kid is the golden boy with the shiny new fat contract, but Warner will give them a better chance to win this year. Bump everyone on O for the Cards from here on out....

This looks like really good fortune for the Cardinals.. forcing the coach to play the better player, not the player with the bigger contract. How long Warner can keep this up is unknown, but with a strong O-line I don't see why he can't finish the season strong.

Really, though, this is an amazing turn of events if you're Warner. With rumors of him wanting to retire (because he's not starting), and rumors of ARZ cutting him (because his "starter" salary), to him filling in here and there as a tease with the best cast he's had in a long time, this has to be the best thing that has happened to Warner since he left St. Louis.
