What do you guys see Washington doing in 2008 and beyond. Does he win the starting job next year? Does he have a chance to claim the starting job this year even?
He's definatly a better receiver than Jones and this is a PPR league.
I think that Washington is going to be a stud sometime in the next two years. I remember reading an article where C. Martin thought this kid has the it factor and has his head on straight. We've seen how small backs with speed can do very well (Westbrook, and Parker). He will be the next in that mould. I missed out on him in the second in my keep seven league, where I was willing to pick him up with my first pick (traded my 1st round for Colstein). In a dynasty league this kid is going to be a stud, just wait till next year.
I think the time may be approaching for the Jets where younger guys like Kellen Clemens and Washington get a shot to add some juice to the offense. I am not sure if Leon will ever be a 20-25 carry guy but he could certainly fill a Westbrook type role in this offense. I was suprised he wasn't more involved in the O weeks 2 and 3. He may be their best playmaker.
I like his chances in a dynasty league. When Clemmens takes over at qb he should be able to stretch the field giving Leon room to run. As mentioned he has pretty good hands. Expect him to be in 12-15 range in points.
Dynasty wise I don't think the Jets front office has much faith in him, probably because of his size. Thus the trade for Jones. I really think they need to get him more touches, you saw it last week against Buffalo with the 4 carries for 25 yds and a TD, 8 catches. 10-15 touches a game sounds right...
