Let's discuss Fast Willie Parker! (1 Viewer)

FWP has been solid so far through 2006. I am for one impressed with the number of TD's he has gotten. His upcoming schedule is a fantasy bonanza!!

@ATL

@OAK

NO

Clev 2X's

TB

Could FWP be a possible Top 10 RB at the end of the season? I can easily see him rushing for 1200-1300 yards and scoring 10 TD's. Anyone else drinking the FWP Kool-Aide? Is he a RB to possibly target fantasy wise? :popcorn:

I wasn't nearly as high on him as others seemed to be before the season, but it looks like I'm dead wrong on this one. He's producing at a high level and even looks like he's getting the goal line love.

The possibility exists that Davenport could become more involved in the offense which could cut into Parker's numbers, but right now he could easily be a top 10 RB.

:yes: :banned:

Adopted him in a keeper and couldn't be happier thus far. Especially w/ him getting the work inside the 5.

1400/12

PIT's offense *Ben* is coming around and their D is solid. CIN struggling and BAL exposed, so PIT will once again take over the North (as much as it pains me to type that as a Browns fan). Thankfully their ealry season struggles will help keep FWP on the field in weeks 14-16. :thumbup:

If he stayed in on more 3rd downs, he'd push top 5. But, can't complain, and I like the way Cowher's using him. He needs more close games where he's not on the bench for the entire 4th qtr.

Dookie will vulture :football:
Davenport is no goaline back and Parker has been good in the red zone. Davenport will get enough carries so that Parker won't be seeing any 30 carry games anymore. Parker is easily a top ten back and if he caught more passes would be top 5.

Parker's value is so high right now I was able to move him and Chad Johnson for LT.

Might want to consider selling, his playoff sked is pretty brutal if I remember correctly.

Week 14: Browns (27th rushing defense)Week 15: @ Panthers (19th rushing defense)

Week 16: Ravens (2nd rushing defense)

Not that terrible, but no walk in the park either.

At his current pace, Parker is on schedule for 318/1300/16 rush and 33/141/0 receive. I'd guess that's top 10. I don't think Parker will end up with that many carries, though. I see something like 280/1100/12. Cowher does have a tendency to run his horses when he's had them though, including Bettis in 2000 (355), 1998 (316), 1997 (375), 1996 (320), and the illustrious Barry Foster in 1992 (390). So, maybe the original prognosis isn't too far off.The more interesting question is what Davenport ends up with.

Actually Parker is on pace for 339/1388/16tds and 35/150/0. So by your end of year prediction, you think Parker is gonna avg less than 16 carries per game? He's avg over 21/game this season. 3 of his 5 games have been against top run def, Miami, SD, and Jax. What reason do you see that Parker will get less touches going forward?

The only reason Dookie played last week and got some carries is the score .

In a tight game Dookie gets maybe 3 carries a game .

I said it once, and i'll say it again. davenport will be a non factor on willie's numbers.

Now that Vhaynes is on the pup. look for willie's catches to increase.

Owner here and looking to move him over R Brown and KJ in a keeper league

Yes he has been solid but he cant seem to break a tackle, and goes down with first contact, the holes arent there like they were last year

I also dont like the fact that he isnt in there on third down, and I dont get it. He seems to have the perfect build for a back to be in there on 3rd downs. I read somewhere Cowher just doesnt want him in there on every play, and the fact that he wasnt in there at the end of the raiders game cost the steelers the game cause davenport had a HUGE motion penalty he was then pulled for Parker. He potentially could get more 3rd down reps with Haynes hurt.

Also tough playoff schedule

think he'll be ok this year and I hate to give him up but just dont have the feeling it will last in the long run

Apparently you don't have a T-V as we call it. I have no idea on what you are based your statements other than you read somewhere. Please stop - you're killin' me whitey

I've based it on the fact that i do have a tv and the ticket and watched him nearly every game this year. he does run hard, but often goes down on initial contact.he is definately not in there on 3rd downs no argument what so ever therehe has a tough playoff schedule no argument there.my first of three is the only debatable point bro, or whitey, or whatever. If you disagree tell us why

WIth Haynes on IR I think he will be the third-down back. He score a td this past week as the RB in the shot gun which would have been Haynes' role if he were not injured.

FWP is currently the #4 RB in fantasy points in my league. He has done this with the Steelers looking not particularly good. I figure he can at least continue to keep up his current production. Davenport has looked bad in short yardage and pass protection. Haynes is on IR so he will be used more in passing situations. I am not sure Ben will play better but I doubt he will play worse. There is no strength of schedule change for the second half base on FBG's charts with only week 16 looking bad in playoff time (once agin on FBG's SOS).

I have thought about trading him high but I think he can be a top 5 back (at least in my league)
