Let's make an attempt to figure out the Tenn RB situation (1 Viewer)

I think White's clearly the guy they want. I think he'll do fine and could be the RB steal of the year. (though he's going to climb the RB charts -- if not already). If not, Chris Brown (who I see as the 3rd down back) can do a decent job.

<insert someone's re-hashed post about Michael Turner going to the Titans in '08 here>
no that ship has sailedif they wanted him, they wouldve given SD a 1st and drafted a DB in the secondinstead they drafted their DB in the first and RB in the secondthey will have to pay out the wazoo for turner, added to having White and Henry at 2nd round prices and years left on dealstoo much $ and picks spent on one position IMOnot saying they SHOULDN'T have made that SD trade, just saying that barring a trade of a RB, not doing that trade probably stops them from even attempting to sign Turner in 08
This is just wrong. Second round picks cost very little. LenDales contract details are as follows:Signed a four-year contract. The deal included a $1.3 million signing bonus. 2007: $360,000, 2008: $445,000, 2009: $530,000. So, they could cut him after next year and cap hit would be in the ballpark of 200,000. Henry was a late second round pick, so his contract was likely slightly smaller.

forget RB's....the wr situation is more fun to follow.....first i will give my 2 cents about the rb's....White is the starter no ifs ands or buts.....he needs the reps, they are gonna put the weight on his shoulders and see how he does.....if he FLOPS....chris brown is there to take over whenever....they only signed him because he is familiar with the off., so he makes for a good fall back option if white fails.....dont foget if in the middle of the season it looks bad, maybe turner or someone like Dillon may end up in Ten....more than likely Dillonnot that this matters, but as a titans homer i think i will share........its early, but it looks like Moulds will be #1 WR....Roby #2....and Brandon Jones is slipping down the line at #3 with Roydell Williams breathing down his neckanything can happen the rest of camp and preseason, but the biggest suprise is Jones slipping.....he looked like he had potential towards the end of last season....i have him down as a deep sleeper, BUT.... maybe i have to jump the Roby-Wagon
:lmao: This certainly seems to be how things stand currently.

I was listening to Keith Bulluck talking about the Titans RB situation on Thursday. Basically Chris Henry is an after thought. The battle is between Chris Brown & Lendale White. Now, maybe it's just me but I got the feeling that Chris Brown was looking like the better of the two and Bullock was being PC when talking about Lendale. I have the feeling that even if Lendale gets his act together that Brown will be the main RB week one and White would over take him somewhere during the season. I don't get the impression that Lendale is going to get 20-25 carries week one against the Jags.

ETA: Forgot to add my Dynasty thoughts (although I feel that Bulluck's comments regarding training camp to date will be helpful to some folks.) Personally I feel that Chris Henry was a wasted pick by Titans. I thought so in April and I still feel that way over three months later after reading multiple camp reports, Titan's insider views, listening to Sirius NFL radio for 8 hours a day etc. In fact, I probably gave him a 10% chance back in late April, it's lower now. I believe that in 2008 Lendale White will be the man. Keith Bulluck was saying that White's biggest problem is that he came into camp out of shape. He was expecting training camp to round him into shape, while everyone else came into TC ready to go. Now he's struggling to finish camp in the condition that most guys originally showed up in. Bulluck said that Lendale understands he made a mistake taking his off season conditioning too lightly and that he (Bulluck) fully expects that Lendale will report to TC in 2008 in much better shape than he did this summer.

What does it take to be 50% of FBG forum members?

1) NEVER read the entire original post.

2) BE SURE to mince the purpose of the OP into something you think it should say.

3) BE AS OBVIOUS as you can be by re-hashing everyone else's tripe when replying.

4) THROW IN a line somewhere about Michael Turner going to the Titans.

4) Repeat. Always repeat.

The OP was talking dynasty here people. It wasn't a thread inviting you to tell us where you got Chris Brown in an 07 redraft. There's tons of those threads already. A couple of good posts in here related to the topic though, but I guarantee there'll be at least:

20 more posts saying how Chris Henry is rubbish (15 by Lhucks)

10 more posts about Turner going to the Titans (at least that's sort of viewing the topic from a dynasty perspective)
Serious Business

I was looking at stats from the 2004 season and Brown was actually leading the NFL in rushing halfway through. He was having a great year. The Titans soured on him because of his continual injury problems, but he does have talent.

Now, do they want him to win the job? No. They didn't give him a big $$$ long-term contract.

They want him to be a safe pair of hands for the first few weeks of the season before either White or Henry makes a move to become a starter. But if neither really look like starting all year then he could hang on to it by default.

No question that Brown has talent. There's playing "injured" and there's playing "hurt" and I think the Titan's organization questions Brown's ability (or desire) to play "hurt."

Watching Titans training camp on NFL network and fisher apparently when asked about the RB's said he wasnt worried and to watch out for Lendale white. It sounds like he expects white to be the main guy and not do too badly. They said they will be talking more about the RB's shortly FWIW.

this is NOT wrongif they turn to turner next year it means TWO second round draft picks wasted by being 'spent' on the same position that they don't even use, that is what i meant by the "spent" partyou have to get no-doubter fulltime starters with your second round picksthink poor man's version of Detroit picking 4 WR in the 1st and wasting at least 2 of thosenot necessarily the money, although i did put a $ sign in which i admit was confusing ... the $ spent will be on Turner

Now that's a sentence I hadn't expected to hear lately. :bag:

The Round Mound of First Down is in pole position short-term. Brown should be a factor though.
 Very nice.On topic, I think Brown will be the starter while White tries to use camp to get his weight down. Brown starts and plays well for a few games, gets nicked up, and sits while LenDale gets out there. LenDale pulls a hammy because he still isn't in shape, prompting the use of Henry, who shows that he was indeed a wasted pick. Then Brown comes back and the cycle repeats. If Brown realizes he is playing for a contract, he might be able to push himself a little harder and play through some nicks that he wouldn't have in seasons past. If he can do that, I think he holds on to the job and doesn't give it up. Waiting for White to take things seriously is like waiting for Mike Williams to take things seriously. And Henry could be good on special teams, but that's about it.

Chris Brown | RB | TEN

Running backs coach Sherman Smith appears ready to annoit Brown as his starter, especially in light of LenDale White's continued absence from practice because of knee and ankle injuries, the Nashville City Paper reports.

Spin: "I think it's starting to clear itself out. We've had two preseason games and LenDale hasn't played in one of them," Smith said. "That kind of puts him in a position where you can't say you're competing for a starting job if your not practicing or playing. I think it's Chris Brown. This guy is showing that he's been consistent. The rookie [Chris Henry] is still learning, and the other two guys, Quinton [Ganther] and Dontrell [Moore], are doing a good job when they get opportunities to play." With this information, move Brown up your draft boards and slide White down. However, Brown should be seen as a No. 3 running back at best.

I recently got Brown in the 13th round of a 14 team league. He's got the potential to be a very valuable back this year.....
