Limited-time-only fast food items that should be brought back (1 Viewer)

HUGE fan of the taco lite/light.If I recall correctly, there was some confusion over the "lite/light" monicur. I seem to remember that these things had roughly 500 times the fat than a typical taco. But oh, so delicious.
Me too. Those were the ( o Y o ) Also liked the Chilito.

Taco Bells "chilito" or chili cheese burrito.

:goodposting: Its been a couple of years, but I know that some Taco Bells still served them.I was working in Union City, TN and the Taco Bell there had them.Loved it.
Most of the Taco Bells in my area still serve them. They are not on the menu, but all you have to do is ask. The only ones that don't seem to serve them are the ones that are combo restaurants.

I can only lead you to water.

ETA it was NOT on the menu.
Lucky you. The 2 nearest Taco Bells stopped serving them all together. Went through the drive thru a month or so ago and was shot down so I drove to the Taco Bell a couple of miles away and it was the same thing. Was told both times they no longer carried them.

They still have Big N' Tasty's anywhere? Those were awesome when they were on the $1 menu at McDonalds. Especially when they had that guaranteed in 3 minutes or whatever deal it was.

Ok, heres one that not many may remember....Wendy's Super Bar. It was basically a fast food buffet but it had Mexican, Italian, salad and dessert. You could make your own tacos and nachos, and have some spaghetti and garlic bread. Check this out:

Completely forgot about the super bar - had it many times back in the day. The Mexican food was pretty good from what I remember.

All the Taco Bells in Minnesota have them.
Time for a road trip
Just ask at your Taco Bell. I only eat there maybe once a year, but when I go I get them, even when they're not listed on the menu.

Oh, I loved the Super Bar! I used to go to the Wendy's in my hometown all the time specifically for the Super Bar.

:goodposting: We didn't have a lot of Wendy's near me growing up, but our place near the shore did. That was part of the routine every weekend

When I was about 15, these were vital. Around $4 bucks and you could eat like mad, make and wrap about 5 extra tacos for later, and save your other $6 for beer money.

and then we started talking about limited-time-only items we used to be able to get at fast food places, like the McDLT from McDonalds. That was a great sammich for Mickey D's.
Was this the cool side cool and the hot side hot? I loved that one.

I wish Taco Bell would bring back the BellBurger.

Taco Bueno had it for a while, and Taco Casa has a version now, but I remember the BellBurger as a kid being the very best.

Taco Meat, shredded lettuce, shredded cheese and red sauce on a hamburger bun.

Anyone from So Cal remember Pup-n-Taco? Used to love getting $.19 dogs and tacos, and their french fries were awesome - they were mashed potatoes that were put into a machine and made into "fake" crinkly cut fries and then fried. Best fries ever.

Pup 'N' Taco was a privately-owned chain of fast-food restaurants in Southern California, with its headquarters based in Long Beach, California. The business was begun by Russell Wendell in 1956 as a drive-in restaurant that served tacos, hot dogs and pastrami sandwiches. The first officially branded Pup 'N' Taco was opened in Pasadena, California in 1965.

The menu consisted of tacos, tostadas, pastrami sandwiches, burgers, several varieties of hot dog (the "pup" in Pup 'N' Taco) and french fries. Beverages included R.C. Cola, root beer and a variety of flavored slushes.

Ninety-nine stores were bought by Taco Bell in 1984, effectively ending the history of the chain. However, three operations in Albuquerque, New Mexico, were not included in the deal and two existed until August 2011 as Pop 'N' Taco, the same as in Los Angeles.

Thanks again, Taco Bell.
Loved me some Pup N Taco. For 2 bucks you could gorge. Great for after Little League games

A friend of mine on FB mentioned Pup-n-taco earlier and it made me think of this thread...good times revisiting it.

I think Del Taco still has something like this.

Taco Bell still sell that pizzazz thing? Must have eaten a thousand of those one summer.

dunkin donuts made a caramel apple pie donut with apple filing and a caramel glaze frosting. It's like that almost perfect ex girlfriend but you knew she was bad for you. I don't want it to come back, I just want to know that I could ever have one again.

Evocative description. I can relate, and I never had that particular frosted donut.

Not really a limited time item, but I have discovered Roy Rogers is still around on the turnpike. They have the greatest chicken in the world. Sometimes we drive up the turnpike just to go eat there. Have to pay to get there. But well worth it. Wish they had more restaurants around still.
