Limits on Hall of Fame votes changed (1 Viewer)

Just saw this quote from Dr. Z:

Josh of K.C. wonders whether or not Will Shields will be a first ballot Hall of Famer. I hate to keep repeating this, but it depends on whom he'll be up against. It's easier now, since they raised the quota, but guards usually have to wait a while.

I've always hated the fact that Canton inductions are limited to between three and six per year. But this is the first that I've heard about any change in these limits. The Hall of Fame's web site doesn't list any change. Has there been any official announcement?
